Foreign mythology has a main god, why is there no one in Chinese mythology?
In the thousands of years of cultural development in our country, in addition to the above-mentioned songs, hymns, history books, classics, there are also books recorded or folk mythological stories, I believe that many people's childhood are deeply influenced by the ancient myths and stories of our country, and were instilled with the soul, these stories in addition to developing our imagination, but also indirectly let us understand the ancient cultural characteristics.
But have you noticed that our myths and stories have a great feature, that is, there are a variety of mythological schools and systems at the same time, and our myths do not have a main god, on the contrary, most foreign myths are a main god, guided by a god, why is this? Why can't our country have a Mother Goddess?
I believe that many people have a certain understanding of Western mythology, such as "The Tale of One Thousand and One Nights", "Aesop's Fables", etc., most of these fables have their own mythological systems, although these foreign fables have their own idioms, there are certain differences, but in general, their mythological systems are still relatively unified.
Among them, the two major mythological systems of Western Europe and Greece are the most distinctive. Western European mythology tends to be freer and more romantic, the stories are more complex, and the relationships between the various characters are more complex, but no matter how ever-changing, they all have a ruler of the gods - Odin, which is also generally recognized by the inhabitants of these European countries.
In Western mythology, the image of Odin is also a one-eyed old man with an aura of untouchable greatness and antiquity, and such an image is indeed in line with the characteristics of European mythology. Aesthetics and the pursuit and yearning for power and authority.
In the Greek mythological system, the main god is Zeus, Zeus is the main god in charge of the sky, thunder and lightning, he controls all the changes between heaven and earth, and most of the characters in the myth are his children or characters who are related to him, from this feature, it can be seen that in the narrative system of Greek mythology, more emphasis is placed on emotion, therefore, the reality of these mythological characters and images is closer to the characters and images in Yahua mythology. In contrast to Greek mythology, which focused more on human nature and emotion, these two foreign myths have one thing in common, namely that there is only one main god and no other texts.
Compared to these foreign myths, the Chinese mythological system appears to be very diverse, and many of them are very different, but the important thing is that there is no perfect main god. After Pangu opened the world in our mythology, there was a world, his body became mountains, rivers, grasses, rivers and seas, and even the sun and moon were the illusion of his eyeballs, so Pangu in the chaotic period must be the beginning of all things. Pangu must be the beginning of all things.
But Pangu did not defeat the gods, and later mythology almost erased his existence. For example, in our native sects, there are Taoists who say that the three immortals who are in one breath are the main gods in ancient times, but some people say that Fuxi and Nuwa created human beings, and without him there would not be so many descendants, so they should be worshipped as the main gods.
After thousands of years of controversy, coupled with the introduction of foreign sects into China, China's original mythological story system became more and more diversified under the influence of foreign cultures and genres, resulting in more stories and more numbers. For example, during the Wei and Jin dynasties, the three religions converged, and people's ideas and concepts were greatly renewed, and the resulting stories were intertwined and interconnected. Later stories gradually converged, but no matter how they evolved, people always adhered to their beliefs and sects, and never came close to complete unity.
On the other hand, there are so many other countries in the world, and they have different conditions for deepening their institutions, why should they be linked together by a common idea?First of all, China has always had many different schools of thought, and it has not maintained a single ideological cognition like the West, and it is precisely because of the different schools of thought in China that people's cognition and choices are more diverse.
Therefore, at that time, different sects were more inclined to choose the side of their own beliefs in the face of complex and diverse myths and stories, and would always insist on their own thoughts and beliefs. Opposing views with the rest of the world, views of views On the one hand, most of the other countries in the world shared the same beliefs and ideas during the same period, so the general cultural consciousness would also converge.
On the other hand, due to China's vast territory and multi-ethnic originality, in the process of China's historical development, it is often in a state of fragmentation, each country or nation has its own cultural color and concept, perhaps some legends and stories since ancient times still retain a unified point of view, but at this time, due to the continuous change of dynasties and cultural diversity, it is also difficult to achieve unity. After the change of dynasties, the diversity of cultures made it difficult to maintain the same cultural ideas.
For example, in Europe or ancient Greece, in the long process of historical development, they all maintained the status of small countries, so it is easier to maintain a common cultural concept than small countries, and in modern times, there was a large-scale colonial war of aggression, although there are great cultural differences between these countries, but the Western powers in the expansion of colonies at the same time, but also have a direct impact on the culture of other countries, so similar cultures appeared, so similar cultures appeared in other countries. Unconsciously, the cultures of other countries also emerge because similar mythological systems or mythological stories have a common owner.
We are an ancient civilization, and it is normal to have different cultural systems, and I don't think these cultural systems are correct, because they are valuable spiritual and cultural heritage left by our ancestors.
At the same time, we must uphold the scientific concept and correct values, consciously resist decadent culture, study and develop advanced culture, pass on the precious spiritual wealth left to us by our ancestors, and continue to maintain our unique cultural diversity.
