What is it like to "deal" with bright roses every day?37-year-old Zhang Xiaohong gave the answer: joy and tranquility. Roses, she says, have also brought her a good income, making her an excellent flower cutter and experiencing a sense of accomplishment and presence that she has never felt before.
From a rural woman to an "office worker", Zhang Xiaohong's identity has changed thanks to the employment opportunities provided by the cooperation of local ** and enterprises.
In 2022, Zhang Xiaohong's hometown of Linxia City, Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, built a 200,000-square-meter high-tech intelligent greenhouse specializing in the production of fresh-cut roses.

This total investment is 6The 400 million yuan, covering an area of 347 acres, has not only changed the face of many rural women like Zhang Xiaohong, but also helped rural revitalization with its advanced agricultural production system. Locals call it the "Super Rose Production Factory".
The reporter followed Zhang Xiaohong into the rose production factory, and a sudden warmth instantly dissipated the cold of winter. The temperature inside the factory is carefully controlled to more than 20 degrees Celsius, which is just the right amount to reconcile the temperature differences between the four seasons, so that the roses here can be kept in the best condition all year round.
Taking off her heavy coat, Zhang Xiaohong changed into light overalls, put on gloves and a hat, picked up big scissors, and started a day's flower cutting work. I saw her walk into the deep and narrow green corridor until she couldn't see anyone. In a few moments, she walked out with a large bouquet of roses, fresh dew dripping from the delicate petals. The flatbed truck was filled with clean water, and she, along with other workers, carefully wrapped the freshly picked roses in mesh and placed them in the water. Soon, these roses will be shipped all over the country and even overseas to bring joy and enjoyment to people.

For Zhang Xiaohong, who is used to doing crop work, the job of cutting flowers is easier, and more importantly, she has gained a great sense of accomplishment from cutting flowers. She told reporters that in March this year, she was introduced by her fellow villagers to work here. Pay by the piece, more work and more reward. Her monthly income reached five or six thousand yuan. "Being close to home, having an income, being respected, and I love this job from the bottom of my heart. ”

Li Zetian, deputy general manager of Baiyi Yinong International Flower Port Co., Ltd., said that the flower port project has led to the employment of more than 500 local people, most of whom are women, and the per capita annual income can reach 450,000 yuan.
Gansu has unique advantages in terms of altitude, light, air humidity and flower transportation, which is suitable for the development of intelligent greenhouse flower industry. Currently, the port produces an average of about 200,000 fresh-cut roses per day. In August this year, more than 10,000 fresh-cut roses were sent to Kazakhstan, achieving a "zero breakthrough" in the export of local flowers.
Ma Zhancai, secretary of the Linxia Municipal Party Committee, believes that characteristic industries lead the "acceleration" of rural revitalization. If the project is good and the industry is prosperous, it will be able to drive more farmers like Zhang Xiaohong.
In order to make the "Northwest Production" roses more competitive in the market, the Flower Port project also contains many scientific and technological elements. In the rose factory, the reporter saw that above the roses, there were pink LED lights hanging above. This complementary light technology from the Netherlands adjusts the light source according to the different growth stages of the roses to form an optimal "light formula" to improve the growth rate, quality and yield of roses. The comfortable and non-dry room temperature also reminded reporters that there must be some trick here.
Walking into the natural gas boiler room for central heating, the reporter saw that there were also several special pipes and storage tanks here. "This is used to collect the carbon dioxide emitted when natural gas is burned, and we will re-emit the collected carbon dioxide into the greenhouse, which can not only promote the better photosynthesis of roses, but also achieve zero carbon dioxide emissions," Li Zetian said. ”
Linxia is known as the "hometown of Chinese flowers", and flowers are a kind of original folk song. Nowadays, here, people use diligence and wisdom, science and technology and innovative ideas to turn this barren land into a vibrant sea of flowers.
