The Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite chip challenges Apple s M series hardware performance showdown

Mondo Technology Updated on 2024-01-30

Recently, Qualcomm demonstrated the performance of the Snapdragon X Elite PC chip, and confidently claimed that it outperformed Apple's M3 chip in terms of single-thread performance, and surpassed the M3 by 21% in multi-core performance.

In October of this year, Qualcomm made its public debut with the X Elite PC chip, but at the time it was compared to Apple's M2 Max chip. However, just a week after the launch of the Snapdragon X Elite, Apple released the latest M3 series chips and computers with M3 chips. As a result, Qualcomm decided to compare the Snapdragon X Elite with the M3 and claims to surpass the M3 in several aspects, especially in terms of artificial intelligence (AI) performance.

Although Qualcomm is a firm believer in the powerful performance of its chips, it also emphasizes that the actual experience may vary due to the different operating systems running it. However, hardware performance is still the ultimate evaluation criterion.

Laptops with Snapdragon X Elite chips are expected to be available in mid-2024. A number of well-known manufacturers, including Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Honor, Lenovo, Microsoft, Samsung, and Xiaomi, are planning to launch devices based on the Snapdragon X Elite chip.

Qualcomm advises consumers not to rush to buy a new notebook, and it is better to wait until next year's Snapdragon X Elite chip-powered products to be launched in order to enjoy more powerful performance and a new AI experience. This recommendation shows Qualcomm's confidence in the performance of its latest chips and expects a positive response from the market.
