There are several significant differences between steam generators and steam boilers.
First of all, as far as the use registration procedures are concerned, the steam boiler needs to be inspected, and the steam generator is not within the scope of supervision and inspection of the "Pot Regulations" because the water volume is less than 30 liters, and it is an inspection-free steam boiler. In terms of start-up time, the steam generator can produce high-temperature steam in a short time, which can be used immediately without preheating, while the traditional steam boiler is slow to start up and often needs to be preheated for dozens of minutes, resulting in a waste of energy. The steam generator also adopts a modular configuration, which can be arranged separately and flexibly superimposed according to the pressure and steam volume of the demand, which can greatly reduce the steam loss, which cannot be done by steam boilers. In terms of structure, the steam boiler mainly includes the furnace body, grate, flue, cooler and other components, while the steam generator mainly includes the shell, heating tube, inlet and outlet, control system and other parts.
In addition, in terms of energy saving and efficiency, the steam generator has a very short preheating time due to the small amount of water retained, while the traditional boiler has a large amount of water and a long preheating time, so the energy saving rate of the steam generator far exceeds that of the traditional steam boiler only from the preheating consideration. In principle, the traditional boiler structure has a water storage mechanism, which will lead to the disadvantage of repeated boiling of dirty water, while this is not the case with steam generators. The purified pure water is directly vaporized in the steam generator, and the water quality is clean and hygienic. In terms of operational safety, steam boilers with a water volume of more than 30 liters are at the highest risk, requiring the construction of a boiler room and the operation of a professional stoker. In contrast, the steam generator is much safer, the whole machine leaves the factory without complicated installation, easy to use, safe, environmentally friendly and does not require a boiler room. To sum up, the steam generator has obvious advantages over the steam boiler, energy saving, emission reduction and high efficiency, which not only meets the demand for steam in all walks of life, but also conforms to the national environmental protection call.
