Just like shown in the picture of Fuchun Mountain, the white-walled Dongziguan has been quietly located on the side of the Fuchun River, the landscape is still blue and clear, and the sister mountain of Dongziguan written by Yu Dafu is still looking towards the east in the river.
The peaceful and tranquil village, the long bluestone road, the depths of the village, the pedestrians are gradually decreasing, and only a silence is encountered. The old man resting at the door may remember the cold appearance of Dongziguan ten years ago at this time. Xu Zengfu is the only remaining fisherman in Dongziguan, he goes out to the river in the early hours of the morning, and the best time to fish is only two hours, between high tide and low tide, when the river tends to calm down.
Now, the big fishmen in Dongziguan no longer do such hard work, only Xu Zengfu is still on this small boat every day with the slight river breeze as a companion, waiting for the fish to enter the net. After steaming these wild fish caught in the Fuchun River, the meat is so tender that you can't even catch it with chopsticks.
Historically, a Fuchun River and a wharf once gave Dongziguan prosperity, but with the decline of water transportation, the village gradually went into depression, young people went out to make a living, Dongziguan gradually faded out of the sight of outsiders, and once became the most common hollow village in rural China. These small buildings in front of me are neither high-end homestays nor villas, but local farmers' relocation houses.
In 2013, Dongziguan became a pilot village for "New Hangzhou Houses", and a year later, 46 new houses rose on the banks of the Fuchun River, and Dongziguan became an Internet celebrity village overnight. Since then, the beautiful countryside of Hangzhou has added a new business card.
Designers of Internet celebrities' new homes are more cautious when it comes to rural areas. After consulting a lot of information and visiting door to door, I thoroughly knew what the villagers really needed: more importantly, it was around a more reasonable low cost and cost, which was very important for the villagers to improve the quality of life at a low cost.
In each three-storey building, there are three small courtyards, the north courtyard is placed with battery cars and farm tools, the side courtyard is placed with sundries, and the south courtyard is used as a small garden at the main entrance, retaining the traditional life Xi habits of the villagers, and only after the designer considered hiding the poetry in Wu Guanzhong's painting in this black and white dotted line surface. From research to the construction of the new house, the designer and the villagers have a revolutionary friendship, and together they have built a home that has never been before.
Xu Zengfu lives with his two sons who have already married a family, and the eight people live under the same roof, which is very happy but also a constraint, and it is the greatest wish of their family to live in the second batch of new homes that are ready to be built.
After the Zhu family's old house was demolished, Zhu Yongjie's family got the keys to the first batch of new homes, and although the father and son's concepts conflicted from time to time, this did not hinder their enthusiasm for building a new home. Dongziguan is the hometown of Zhu Yongjie's family, and his father has lived here since he was a child, but it is completely different when it comes to Zhu Yongjie's generation. He was born and raised in the city, and even though he was only an hour's drive from his hometown, he didn't know anything about Dongziguan. In the process of decorating a new house to and from Dongziguan, Zhu Yongjie also changed from a person who did not know his hometown to a new generation of Dongziguan people.
The villagers' activity center was completed, an open space that is a new interpretation of traditional ancestral halls and community houses, and a gift from the designer to the villagers, who hopes that in the future, it will be a source of vitality for the entire village.
China has lost 900,000 villages in the past decade, and Dongziguan is almost one of them, once only in the company of dilapidated houses and old people. Nowadays, under the hundred-year-old camphor tree by the wharf, there is a strong local sound and tourists coming and going.
