The problem of fraud in northern Myanmar is complicated by the three-tiered links between its criminals and the "Four Families" represented by the local armed forces, as well as the Myanmar military.
For years, anti-wire scams have struggled to succeed, in large part because only a few criminals have been caught, not eradicated. Cut off the channels for the transfer of benefits between the Burmese military and local armed anti-fraud organizations and wire fraud gangs. This led to the regrouping of gangsters in northern Myanmar and became more rampant. At present, the work of the relevant parties in China has achieved results, and the premise is that the network of interests related to wire fraud has been destroyed.
Now that the foundation of the Burmese army in Myanmar has been destroyed, the ** army cannot take the Kokang coalition army, and can only retreat one after another. In terms of troops, they are no match for the Burmese army at all. From China's point of view, China and Myanmar are close neighbors, and if there is a prolonged war in Myanmar, a large number of refugees will be created and economic cooperation between China and Myanmar will be hindered. China has also urged the relevant parties in Myanmar to adopt the method of consultation to handle the situation. Recently, it was reported that the Myanmar army spokeswoman Zo Myint Tun said that the Myanmar army has held talks with military representatives from three local regions, including the Kokang Alliance, at the end of December. The meeting took place with the assistance of China. Myanmar is a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and the ASEAN mechanism has not played a significant role in the chaos in Myanmar. China is already working to bring about peace and reconciliation among all parties in Myanmar. Myanmar Governor Dansui went to China on December 6 to attend the Lancang-Mekong Conference, where he made two commitments to China.
We support the Belt and Road Initiative, and we are willing to contribute to the common development of the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor. We will work firmly with China. On the issue of internal stability in Myanmar, the Burmese side has also offered help to China. Anti-wire fraud is the biggest contradiction between China and Myanmar at present. Under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, promoting the construction of China-Myanmar transport corridors will bring greater economic benefits to both sides.
There is still a series of room for cooperation between China and Myanmar, and China has already issued arrest warrants for Bai Suocheng and others. It is hoped that the Burmese side will cooperate with the Chinese side to arrest the 10 persons on China's wanted list as soon as possible, so as to demonstrate the sincerity of the Burmese side and remove obstacles to the future Sino-Burmese consultations on relevant issues.
At the same time, in order to transform the situation in Myanmar from chaos to governance, it is necessary to start with the colonial legacy of the United Kingdom and promote the establishment of a national mechanism based on consultation on an equal footing, with the participation and recognition of all parties.
