Zhangbaling Town, Mingguang City, is composed of five of the six Bao (equivalent to the current administrative village) of Mayuan Wall, Fanshan Temple, Yingfu Temple, Xiaodai Mountain, Sanduliu (where Zhangbaling Market Town is located today) in Chuxian County (now Nanqiao District, Chuzhou City) (another Baojiang Ninghoubao is now Sanjie Town in Chu County) and Jiashanji, Yinjiaji, and Zhangpuying in Lai'an County. In 1932, it was approved by the Ministry of the Interior of the People's Republic of China and was transferred to the newly established Jiashan County. In 1994, Jiashan County was withdrawn from the county and established as a city. Zhangbaling Town is now the southern gate of Mingguang City.
How Zhang Baling's name came about, there is no record in the history books.
Myths and legends go like this. The "Eight Immortals" in the sky under the leadership of Zhang Guolao went to the Jianghuai water division under the Laojia Mountain to play, and was intoxicated by the local beautiful scenery, beautiful scenery, trickling streams, dense forests, striking flowers, and crisp bird language, and had fun, everyone wanted to drink to have fun, but there was no table and stool, Zhang Guolao moved a stone as a table, told everyone to sit on the ground first, and then ordered the land lord to raise the ground under the buttocks of each immortal by fifty centimeters and use it as a stool.
After the Eight Immortals got drunk, they left here one after another.
Before leaving, Zhang Guolao kicked the stone table away. Because the stone that was used by the Eight Immortals as a table has been stained with fairy energy, it rolled to a nearby place and stopped, and it became a mountain, which is today's Laojia Mountain. In the process of rolling, the stone fell into two small pieces due to bumping, which is now Zhongjia Mountain and Xiaojia Mountain. The stool on which the eight immortals sat was also stained with immortal energy, growing into eight mountains, resembling a gossip map. Because this is Zhang Guolao's masterpiece, people later called these eight mountains Zhang Baling.
Gradually, Zhangbaling became a geographical indication of the Jianghuai water division, and the market town, that is, the location of Zhangbaling Street, is located on the highest mountain ridge in the Baling, which is a typical Jianghuai watershed. Here a ridge is divided into the Yangtze River, the water of Lingnan flows into the Yangtze River, and the water of Lingbei flows into the Huai River.
Folklore goes like this. During the Xianfeng period, there was a family surnamed Zhang living in Xuyi County, with eight brothers, and the family was very wealthy. One day, Gong Deshu, the chief white flag master of the Huaibei Twist Army, led the authority of the Twist Army to Xuyi County, that is, to collect military food and property from afar, and the Zhang family bore the brunt of it and became the target of plundering by the Twist Army. But the Zhang family was unwilling, and in order to protect the family wealth, they rose up to fight against the Twist Army. Due to being outnumbered, as a result, seven of the eight brothers of the Zhang family were killed, and only the eldest and youngest brother Zhang Bing escaped in life and death.
In order to ensure that the incense of the Zhang family is endless, the old and young of the Zhang family had to flee for their lives under the escort of the eighth brother Zhang Bingsheng - they left their hometown and settled on the edge of Jiashanji, an ancient village in Bali, Nanxiang Township, Laojiashan. Many years later, the Zhang family began to prosper. One day, a feng shui gentleman came up from the village and said to the Zhang family: "If you keep it safe, move to the southwest again." ”
So Zhang Bingsheng led his clan again and moved his family to "Bulingzhuang", which is twelve miles southwest of Jiashanji. After coming to "Bulingzhuang", Zhang Bingsheng climbed the high ring and saw that there were North Temple Mountain, South Temple Mountain, Dushan Mountain, Xing Mountain, and Fan in a radius of all sidesThere are also Laojia Mountain, Zhongjia Mountain, Xiaojia, and the landforms of each mountain range are very different, the distance is different, the layout is scattered, and the form is like gossip. Zhang Bingsheng decided that it was very good to settle down here. Since then, he has settled down, cultivated land, and made a fortune through hard work.
Therefore,A "Buling Village", which was originally only an ancient village, was soon renamed "Zhang Baling" because of the large family surnamed Zhang. Because the village is built on the edge of the Siliu Ancient Road (Sixian-Liuhe), the transportation is convenient, with the passage of time, coupled with the opening of the Jinpu Railway at the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, many outsiders flocked to Zhangbaling to do business and settle down, and Zhangbaling developed from a village to a market town.

Now Zhangbaling Town has become the first town of Mingguang, which is not only a well-known tourist town, but also an economically developed industrial town, and the hometown of China's Pushu, Mingguang Jiangning Industrial Park is located on both sides of the four national highways in the south of the town. Eight is to develop, Zhang Baling has caught up with the new era, economic prosperity, social tranquility, the development of various undertakings have stepped into the fast lane, changing with each passing day, full of vitality and hope, has become the Xingfa Ling (prosperous and developed ridge) in eastern Anhui.
