After Japan announced its ban on China, it quickly learned a lesson from reality

In recent years, the United States has continuously changed export control rules for its own interests, and has tried its best to obstruct the development of China's chip industry. In this regard, our country has no longer tolerated and began an investigation into the American company Micron, which announced some time ago that it failed to pass the cybersecurity review.

At this time, Japan suddenly announced export restrictions on 23 types of chip manufacturing equipment, acting as a chip restriction for the United States"Rush vanguard"。But the American chip giant has long been aware of this, and some time ago issued a warning that the consequences are very serious!

At the end of January, after an agreement was reached between the United States, Japan and the Netherlands, Japan spent more than two months quietly reviewing the regulations and then held a month-long consultation on them.

Despite the doubts raised by Japanese companies and our industry, Japan did not react. Japan officially announced the relevant regulations some time ago, and decided to officially implement them on July 23, with a safety period of only two months, which shows its urgency.

Secondly, there are a lot of restricted items. Japan directly imposes restrictions on 23 types of semiconductor manufacturing equipment in 6 categories, including lithography and etching.

This time, Japan's restrictions on the number and level of detail of equipment not only exceed those of the Netherlands, but also exceed those of the United States, involving almost every link of wafer manufacturing, and 10 Japanese semiconductor equipment manufacturers such as Tokyo Electron and Nikon will be affected.

Third, the standards are very strict. Judging from the equipment rules announced by Japan, although the focus is on restricting the equipment required for advanced processes below 14 nanometers, from the perspective of restricting lithography equipment used at 45-7 nanometers, it also falls into the ranks of restrictions.

ASML said not all submersibles are limited to send one.

Some of the new U.S. regulations were introduced in October last year, and in order not to affect domestic equipment companies, they also made clear regulations on Lam Research and Korey, so they said they may ship more equipment for Chinese companies such as Changxin Warehousing.

Although Japan said that the restrictions are not country-specific, it still needs to obtain permission from these countries to export to countries such as continental Europe and Russia. This situation is already very obvious, and even the American ** Bloomberg said that Japan is working with the United States to restrict chips.

Although Japan has imposed restrictions under pressure from the United States, it has not set stricter standards for restrictions than those of the United States.

This shows that Japan is not only cooperating with the United States, but that it is intended to impose restrictions on us. It is precisely because Japan simply does not want to see our neighbors rise that it imposes such strict export controls without regard for the interests of its own companies.

It can only be said that Japan has forgotten the pain after its scars, its chip industry has been sanctioned by the United States, and it continues to cooperate with the United States to set restrictions without holding grudges. Later, Japan's production of semiconductor materials and equipment also benefited from the support of the mainland market.

You must know that 40% of Japan's semiconductor equipment is exported to the European continental market, and many Japanese equipment manufacturers are very dependent on the European continental market.

The problem is that Japan's domestic market is limited, and there is no alternative market as large as that of continental Europe. As a result, Japanese semiconductor equipment manufacturers can only afford to lose. It can only be said that Japan's management has not tasted the bitter fruit.

And American chip companies have long tasted the sweetness of chip restrictions. In order to implement chip restrictions, the United States has asked Intel, Qualcomm, Nvidia, etc. to limit shipments, and as a result, American companies have suffered heavy losses.

To reduce losses, Nvidia, Intel, Synopsys, and others have launched China-specific versions to circumvent restrictions.

Some time ago, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang even issued a direct warning. Nvidia has benefited greatly from the global AI boom and is increasing its earnings despite the restrictions. Even so, Huang believes chip restrictions have affected them.

Huang said in an interview that there is only one China in the world and that the Chinese market is irreplaceable. Restrictions on chips have prevented us from selling advanced chips to the largest market, and the consequences of not being able to do so with the Chinese market are severe.

Not only will this cause huge losses to American companies like NVIDIA, but the chip industry, which the United States strongly supports, will also end in complete failure.

The warning issued by Nvidia is the voice of the American companies that have passed the chip restrictions. It can be seen that American companies have understood, and Japanese companies are expected to understand, but Japan does not seem to have understood and does not know that the imposition of restrictions will have very serious consequences.

Imposing restrictions on wafer production will only make us abandon the illusion of external dependence and inspire our determination to develop independently. We currently have a very complete wafer industry chain, as long as we continue to improve the accuracy, they will lose the mainland market forever in the future!

After Japan announced the ban on sales to China, Nvidia issued a warning to restrict tablet computers, and Japan** said that the restrictions imposed by the United States will hit the Japanese industry hard, and the consequences will be very serious. So, Japan has waited for a lesson from reality!
