At the first Tianzhu Mountain International Poetry Conference held from December 15th to 17th, the famous poet and writer Tai A won the 2023 "Gujing Gong Cup" "Poetry Monthly" Annual Poetry Award with his group poem "Beetle". The event was guided by the Anhui Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and hosted by the Poetry Monthly Magazine and the Tianzhu Mountain Management Committee.
Poetry Monthly is a large-scale original Chinese poetry journal approved by the General Administration of Press and Publication of the People's Republic of China and sponsored by the Anhui Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, which is publicly distributed at home and abroad. Its predecessor was the "Poetry Newspaper", which was founded in the 80s of the 20th century. From curating the landmark "1986 Poetry Exhibition" of Chinese contemporary poetry to joining forces to establish the Tianzhu International Poetry Association and setting up the "Annual Poetry Award", Poetry Monthly has become one of the most authoritative poetry publications in China.
Tai'a, whose real name is Zeng Xiaohua, Miao nationality, was born in 1972, a native of Buyunping, Mayang, Hunan, and now lives in Shenzhen. Since 1989, he has published works, including the poetry collection "** in the Black Forest", "Zebra in the City", "Flight", "Testimony and Attachment - A Miao's Expedition I", the essay collection "Although I Go Farther Away", and the long ** "My Glorious Years". His works have been translated into English, French, etc., and published abroad; He was invited to participate in the 37th International Poetry in English and French in Paris, France.
Tai'a's award-winning work is "Beetle" (a group of poems), which was published in the second issue of Poetry Monthly in 2023. In its award speech, the annual award committee said: "In almost every poem, there is an interpenetrating structural relationship between the 'it' of things, the 'he' of others, and the 'I' of the subject. The hidden poetic power of the Beatles is full of thrill and uneasiness, which comes from the poet's hyper-sensitivity to the 'things he sees' and his deep experience of the 'heart he feels'. They praised Tai'a's patient tracing and attention to detail, which enhanced the thrilling poetry of the narrative by generating metaphors from the narrative. Therefore, Tai'a was awarded the annual prize of Poetry Monthly.
In accepting the award, Taia said, "Every poet is a poet of history. He believes that in an era of great change unseen in a century, although the voice of the poet may be weak, over time, these voices will converge into the power of history. For poetry creation, Tai'a insisted on writing miscellaneous and thick, and used a dream pen to draw his own shadow on the hard earth. "I want each of my works to have the meaning of time, and to try to stay true to my timbre every time I speak," he said. ”
