On 4 December, a key match in the 14th round of the Premier League was played at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea hosting Brighton. After a hard-fought battle, Chelsea won 3-2 to claim their fourth home win of 2023.

From the outset, Chelsea showed a strong desire to attack. The players worked closely together to keep attacking Brighton's defence. Despite Brighton's stubborn resistance in the first half of the first half, Chelsea's powerful attack finally broke the deadlock in the 17th minute. Enzo Fernandez met a pass from a team-mate and headed home to give Chelsea a one-goal lead.

As the second half began, Brighton began to fight back. They constantly threatened the Chelsea goal through clever interlinking and quick passing. However, the Chelsea defence was put to the test before finally falling back in the 68th minute. Brighton equalised from a corner and were headed in by Evan Ferguson.

Just when it was thought the game was going to go to extra-time, Chelsea took the lead again in the final moments of the game. Enzo Fernandez picked up a pass from a team-mate in the box and volleyed home to give Chelsea a valuable lead. Although Brighton tried to counter-attack in the final moments of the game, the Chelsea defence held on to the final victory.

The win was big for Chelsea. They are gradually climbing up the Premier League table and this victory puts them one step away from the Champions League places. A home win is even more significant for the fans, who are looking forward to continuing their success in the games ahead.
