The old marshal is undoubtedly a general with great achievements, and his military talent is admirable. However, he has experienced six marriages in his married life, the first five wives died one after another due to the war, and only the sixth wife, Li Gang, is still alive and well. Li Gang was born in a famous family and has lofty ideals and ambitions. Unlike other revolutionary comrades, she is not only a native of Hunan, but also comes from a famous family.
Thanks to her family's wealth, she was able to receive a quality education, and at the age of 16, she resolutely left her hometown to join her brother in the revolutionary cause. Under the leadership of her brother, she embarked on a newspaper job, met like-minded comrades, dabbled in a wide range of books, and accepted advanced ideology and culture. After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, she resolutely went to the battlefield, served as a front-line war correspondent, risked her life, worked day and night, in order to save the motherland in dire straits, she was determined to carry out the revolution to the end, at the age of 19, she went to Yan'an University for further study.
In 1948, Li Gang successfully completed her studies at Yan'an University, and after graduation, she went to North China Military and Political University to continue her studies, where she met Ye Lao. Out of common ideals and original intentions, Ye Lao and Li Gang came together because of like-mindedness, although the age difference between the two is huge, they don't care about the outside world's questioning attitude towards their marriage, and still live their own lives. After marriage, Li Gang gave birth to a son and a daughter for Ye Lao, and chose to become a virtuous assistant and serve as Ye Lao's secretary.
However, as time went on, the ostensibly happy couple failed to withstand the test of life, cracked in their relationship, and eventually chose to part ways. After the divorce, Li Gang did not remarry, but devoted himself to raising children and work. Under the careful teaching of their parents, the children of Ye Lao and Li Gang have shown extraordinary talents. His son, Ye Xuanlian, seized the opportunity and succeeded all the way to become a high-profile chairman in the business world. And her daughter Ye Wenshan also realized her dream of becoming a singer.
Li Gang is now the only surviving wife of the founding marshal, let us wish her a 100th birthday, and her body is still strong.
