Chengdu, December 21 (Reporter Guo Ying) As an important part of the western passage of the new western land-sea corridor, the new Xuyong-Bi section of the Longhuang Railway (referred to as the "Xubi section of the Longhuang Railway") was put into operation today. At 6:30 a.m., the first passenger train departed from Guiyang StationAt 12:05 p.m., the first freight train departed from Xuyong North Station, and the line started passenger and freight train operation on the same day.

With a length of 189 kilometers and a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour, the Xubi section of the Longhuang Railway is a convenient railway passage from the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle to northern Guizhou, Nanning and Beibu Gulf.

The line starts from Xuyong North Station in Xuyong County, Luzhou City, Sichuan Province in the north, passes through Zhenxiong County, Weixin County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province in the south, and reaches Bijie East Station in Bijie City, Guizhou Province, the overall altitude rises from 358 meters in the Sichuan Basin to 1573 meters in the hinterland of Wumeng Mountain in the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau.

There are 8 bridges and 67 tunnels on the whole line, and the bridge-tunnel ratio reaches 86%. Since the start of construction in October 2016, the railway department has organized all participating units to innovate technology and construction methods to overcome difficulties and promote construction. The Fengjiazhai Bridge, which is the highest and spans of the whole line, has a pier of about 129 meters, which is equivalent to the height of a nearly 50-story building. 12.The 8-kilometre Banzhulin Tunnel passes through 9 faults, half of which are occupied by weak surrounding rock. During the construction process, the design and construction unit overcame geological risks such as high gas, water inrush, mud inrush, rockburst, shallow burial and fault fracture zone, and through the research and development of more than ten patented technologies, it helped the tunnel to break through smoothly and further promote the construction of the whole line.

The Longhuang Railway connects the Chengdu-Chongqing Railway in the north and the Huangbai Railway (under construction) in the south, which is divided into the Longxu section, the Xubi section, the Bizhi section and the Zhihuang section. Among them, the Zhihuang section has been opened in April 2011, the Bizhi section has been opened in January 2016, and the remaining Longxu section expansion and reconstruction project is under construction.

The opening of the Xubi section passes through Xuyong, Weixin, Bijie and other old revolutionary areas and Miao, Yi and other ethnic minority areas, driving the local area into the "bullet train era". It is of great significance to promote the coordinated development of regional economy and society, consolidate the achievements of poverty alleviation, serve the revitalization and development of rural areas, and promote ethnic cultural exchanges.
