On December 25, 2023, the Intermediate People's Court of Tongren City, Guizhou Province, openly tried the case of Xu Jiansheng, a former full-time discipline inspection supervisor and first-level inspector at the level of deputy director of the 18th Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group dispatched by the Guizhou Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision.
The Tongren Municipal People's Procuratorate alleges: From 2001 to 2021, the defendant Xu Jiansheng took advantage of his position as director of the Qianxinan Prefecture Coal Industry Bureau, director of the Policy and Regulation Division of the Guizhou Provincial Coal Administration, director of the Supervision Office of the Provincial Energy Bureau dispatched by the Provincial Supervision Department, member of the Party Committee and secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the Provincial Coalfield Geology Bureau, and other positions to provide assistance to relevant personnel in matters such as coal business and coal mine transfer, and illegally accepted property totaling more than 24.41 million yuan. The procuratorate requested that Xu Jiansheng be investigated for criminal responsibility for the crime of **.
During the trial, the procuratorate presented relevant evidence, the defendant Xu Jiansheng and his defender conducted cross-examination, the prosecution and defense fully expressed their opinions under the auspices of the court, and Xu Jiansheng made a final statement and pleaded guilty and accepted punishment in court. At the end of the trial, the court announced an adjournment and announced the verdict at a later date.
