How to apply for CE certificate for products

The basic process of applying for a CE certificate can be summarized as follows:

Determine the directives and harmonized standards to which the product complies. CE marking covers more than 20 directives, each of which covers a different range of products and enumerates the basic requirements for the products covered. You need to be clear about which directive your product uses and meet the essential requirements under that directive.

Determine the detailed requirements that the product should meet. You must ensure that your products meet the essential requirements of the relevant EU legislation. A product is considered to meet the relevant essential requirements if it meets the requirements of all harmonized standards to which it applies.

Select a certification body and consult. You can find a suitable domestic or foreign certification body and ask the body for the type of certification you need (e.g. mechanical certification MD, low voltage certification LVD, electromagnetic compatibility certification EMC, etc.).

Submit the application and related materials. You will need to fill out an application form, provide a company information form, and send a sample of your product to the certification body.

Confirm** and pay. Based on the information provided, the certification body will determine the test standard, test time and the corresponding cost. After the applicant confirms**, signs the application form and service agreement and pays the money.

Conduct tests and evaluate reports. The certification body conducts the necessary tests and prepares a test report.

Complete the CE certification and receive the certificate. If the product test results meet the relevant requirements of CE marking, you can obtain a CE certificate.
