Following the SUV version of the IONIQ 5, Hyundai has launched its sedan version of the IONIQ 6. Compared to the SUV version, the sedan version has a 22 cm longer body and is equipped with two electric motors. In addition, it has a speed limit monitoring system, which does not restrict driving, but beeps, which is exactly what the EU wants to see.
If you use the internal combustion engine to heat or cool the vehicle (turn on the air conditioning) while parked, you will definitely be attacked by the nasty gaze around you. Electric vehicles do not have this danger. After all, electric cars are always quiet, and exhaust fumes are emitted to other places through other means. Either way, it's definitely a big plus for situations like taking a break at a rest stop.
For example, if you go to a drive-in theater, the exterior lighting of the ioniQ6 does not require thermal radiant heating or a lamp covering pad, as it can be turned off completely. The large mirrors do not obstruct the view of the passengers, and the mirror console integrates an image module for the driver assistance system. Although Manta, Manta (Part 2) feels like it's four hours long, it's relatively easy to relax in terms of the length of the film: the storyline is sensational, the humor is bland, and there are only a few dreary car scenes, which explains the film's IMDB rating of 28 10 (based on the vote of 976 viewers).
On a mild day, this trip to the drive-in theater cost a total of 77With a 4 kWh battery of about 2% power, this battery can provide a range of 324 km if fully charged. The power consumption measured at 25 kWh per 100 km was measured in the eco mode, which uses two synchronous motors on the front and rear axles, even at lower loads. The body shape of the IONIQ 6 is streamlined (drag coefficient 0.).21), than the SUV version of the IONIQ 5 (drag coefficient 0.).29) is more suitable for cutting wind, which makes it consume less electricity, which on average in previous tests was 1 2 kWh higher. However, only a direct comparison under the same conditions can lead to a more convincing energy efficiency comparison.
Again, only long-term testing can confirm the capabilities of Hyundai's new version of the route planner. In the new version of the planner, the number of charging stops has also been integrated. It is also certain that it can be filtered by type of charging station and supplier, and it can be searched along a set route.
On the highway, its top speed is set at 185 kilometers per hour. With an output of 325 hp, the IONIQ 6 can be used in 9Acceleration from 80 km/h to 160 km/h in 3 seconds. Acceleration slows down after this speed. On country roads, it travels between 50 and 100 km/h in most cases, and it accelerates in just 3 hours in this range2 seconds. It has to be said that even after several full-power accelerations, the ability to accelerate is still strong, so it can be inferred that the cooling system of the battery and drive seems to be strong enough, at least at an outdoor temperature of 13.
4.Isn't the power of an 86-metre-long midsize sedan weighing only 2,070 kilograms staggering? In the loosest ESP mode, even if the steering wheel is not pointed straight ahead, its power release scale is quite unrestrained. However, the accelerator pedal severely limits the pace of cornering, probably due to the occasional slight jumping sensation on the rear axle. In rear-wheel drive mode, the electronic system is more tightly controlled. According to the dynamic flow animation, the electric motor on the front axle is still partially involved. Therefore, the driving pleasure of the IONIQ 6 does not come from how playable the car is, but from the sprint power and high-speed cornering in the all-wheel drive mode under the standard equipment, and the IONIQ 6 can easily get back on track with just a flick of the body.
At the same time, this somewhat fairly direct steering system creates bumps when pulling the car back into the straight position, which is incongruous. In addition, the wheels have little effect on the corresponding uncoupled steering feel under different load conditions. In order to at least hear the Pavement feedback sound of the Pirelli P Zero Elect well, it is best not to use the sound system** which mimics the acceleration of a spaceship. The motion characteristic curve of the brake pedal is not so sensitive, which is recommended.
The high position of the seat and its well-defined shape also underline its "non-sportiness". It's easier to get inside, but there's not a lot of roof space, and drivers with longer torsos sometimes can't see the full contents of the head-up display on the windshield. But in principle, the driving comfort of modern cars is still good. For example, the rolling noise generated by tires with a tire width of 245 is effectively suppressedIn everyday use, the steering system responds calmly and unobtrusively with the appropriate assistance assistance.
However, even though the suspension system is usually not too stiff, the body will have quite noticeable long undulations on bumpy roads. The reason should be very simple, because the chassis of the car cannot adequately cushion the uneven road surface, and sometimes even the road surface defects that are not visible to the naked eye are transmitted to the body.
Back to the comfort-enhancing function: the automatic air recirculation system is activated in tunnels or when the front windshield wipers are used. Choose from a variety of automatic or fixed energy** modes designed specifically for electric vehicles, and you can also temporarily maximize your energy by holding down the paddle on the left side of the steering wheel. A true one-pedal mode is achieved with the ipedal mode, in which the vehicle can stop in the smoothest way, and only on slopes does it slide slightly back a few centimeters before stopping. Equally great is the parking camera, which provides good image quality even in the dark. In addition, the blind spot view is displayed on the instrument cluster when the driver hits the turn signal, while the two front wheel views show objects such as guardrails in the car wash. The reversing camera can be seen in a wider range than in the rearview mirror and can always be activated.
But that's not to say that everything is so good, for example, the phone can easily slip off the Qi charging pad, but this is not so important for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto users, because both need to be plugged in to use. Obviously not so good is the speed limit assist feature. While it does provide a good sense of comfort when using this feature, it can also disrupt the driver's coolness to a certain extent. A slight beep will sound every time the system detects a new speed limit sign. When the speed limit is only exceeded by 1 km/h, the system will first flash the speed limit sign and then emit three loud beeps. When you drop your speed to within the speed limit, the beep will sound again. Once activated, the only option is to stay within the speed limit forever, but there is a small chance that an event will happen, and there is no guarantee that you will never be able to speed even the slightest bit when you press the accelerator pedal. In addition, no traffic sign recognition system has worked perfectly so far, and many systems have not been able to cope with more complex situations. The Ioniq is no exception, and it simply can't cope when it comes across a time-limited speed limit sign.
Of course, Hyundai is also trying to comply with a controversial regulation in the European Union, which requires warnings to be given either by sound or by pedal touch. This is also legal if you suspend the feature, but it is not allowed to disable it permanently: on the IoniQ, the feature is activated every time the car is activated, and you have to search through the complex menu of levels to find and disable it, and this feature cannot be put into the "Favorites" to shorten the search time. In addition, it is not possible to use the traffic sign recognition function without a speed limit warning, although it is permissible to do so according to EU Directive 2021 1958. In fact, this rule has triggered more emotions than previous movies in drive-in theaters, and the main ingredient in these emotions is unpleasant anger.
Now that the talk of assistance systems really gets better, let's take a look at the lane keeping features. The Lane Keeping Assist on the IONIQ is sometimes overly responsive. If you're driving at a higher speed into a less undulating highway curve, the body will sometimes have some inconsequential judder due to suspension tuning, and then the unpleasant back-and-forth intervention of lane-keeping assist.
In addition, the active lane guidance function works well on highways and expressways. However, the steering wheel lacks capacitance detection, so the driver has to turn the steering wheel slightly frequently so that the vehicle can confirm that his attention is still in the direction of travel.
Sometimes it takes a bit of effort to press the small image and text squares on the touchscreen without any mistakes while you're driving. The menus of the Ioniq are well organized, and the interface with customizable tile views is not difficult to use, and the submenu categories are reasonable, but occasionally a lot of redundancy is required to reach the final action menu. A typical example of this is the touch control of the air conditioner, where you must first touch a fixed area in order to activate the seat air conditioning or steering wheel heating. Unfortunately, the Ioniq doesn't provide a simple physical knob or button for this purpose, as it is inconvenient to set the temperature with a small touch area. Luckily, there is still a volume control knob above the touchscreen, and the direct selection buttons and paddles for map zoom are much easier to use.
There is no difference between the IOniQ 5 and the IONIQ 6 in terms of **, handling, drive and charging performance, but the European Association for the Safety of New Cars (Euro-NCAP) has given the IOniQ 6 a high score of 97% for the protection rate of adult occupants in the vehicle, rather than the 88% of the IONIQ 5. Inside, though, the small dummies on the child seats are well protected. The Lioniq 5, which is 22 centimetres shorter, has a larger luggage compartment and is therefore more practical. It also has looser suspension, and it provides more headroom for rear passengers.
Comparatively, the Ioniq 6 consumes less power and is a bit sportier in corners, but that's not to say it's any more fun to drive. Because it lacks eye-catching product power, it is just a good subdivision product line supplement, after all, not everyone wants to drive an SUV. But no one likes to be bothered by the "beep" sound in the car all the time, and that's only because of some of the EU's imaginary regulations. Therefore, we recommend that Hyundai immediately roll out a new software upgrade to make it as satisfying as possible for drivers and occupants within the limits of the law.
