On December 7, the Yangtze River Wuhan Port passed through the opening area of the water, the shore was green, the ships were like songs, and the cargo ships were neatly lined up at the wharf. I saw gantry cranes and bridge cranes rising and falling, coils of steel were preparing to be transported to nearby car companies, and containers full of auto parts were ferried to Yangluo Port in Wuhan through the "water shuttle bus" and shipped to all over the world. Wang Yuanhui, deputy general manager of the port area, said that Dongfeng Motor was transported to Yangluo Port by land to water, which can reduce logistics costs by 300 yuan per container compared with automobile transportation.

The convergence of the three rivers in Hubei, with more than 1,000 kilometers of the main stream of the Yangtze River, 800 miles of the Qingjiang River, and 900 kilometers of the Han River, is the central hub of the Yangtze River's "first-class waterway" and the north-south transportation channel, and is the intersection and carrier of major national strategies such as jointly building the "Belt and Road" and comprehensively promoting the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and promoting the rise of the central region. In recent years, the Provincial Department of Transportation has accelerated the construction of a comprehensive three-dimensional transportation corridor, strengthened the interconnection with transportation modes such as "hot metal and open air", and continued to write a new era of "goods to Han" with the interconnection of transportation networks

In the first 11 months, the cargo throughput of the port increased by 157%

At the Yanka port terminal in Jingzhou Port, an orange portal crane wields a boom to lift the limestone from the freighter onto a truck, which is then sent to Yijun Yaoneng 7 kilometers away to produce photovoltaic glass. Wang Jun, manager of the marketing department of Jingzhou Port Yanka Container, told Hubei all-media reporters that in order to ensure the production needs of enterprises, Jingzhou Port Group has opened up 5 new quartz sand transportation channels in and out of Yanka Port, so that the output of Yanka Port has increased significantly this year, and the bulk cargo volume and container volume in the first 10 months of this year have exceeded that of last year.

The direction of industrial breakthrough is the development direction of the port. Focusing on the goal of "100 million tons of port, 1 million TEUs, and 100 billion yuan of industry", Jingzhou has accelerated the improvement of infrastructure construction such as wharves, logistics, and warehousing, and promoted the construction of "five ports" of logistics and transportation port, industrial port, first-class port, service port, and functional port, so as to build Jingzhou Port into an important comprehensive transportation hub in the country.

In recent years, the Hubei Port and Shipping Development Center has focused on the pilot construction of modern inland waterway shipping in Hubei, a transportation powerhouse, and promoted the implementation of major projects, and the port development has entered the "fast lane". At the end of November, Xianning City and Hubei Port Group signed a cooperation framework agreement on Xianning Yangtze River Comprehensive Gateway Port, and the two sides jointly promoted the construction of Xianning Yangtze River Comprehensive Gateway Port, with 3 general berths, 1 multi-purpose berth and 450 acres of supporting yards in the rear. Among the eight cities and prefectures along the Yangtze River in Hubei, the utilization rate of the Yangtze River port shoreline is the lowest, and it is the only deep-water port in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River that has not been fully developed.

Inland waterway shipping is connected to people's livelihood on the one hand, and development on the other. Focusing on the goal of "building a first-class shipping hub, a first-class port enterprise, and a first-class open channel in China, and making every effort to build a national Yangtze River shipping benchmark", our province has successively issued the "Hubei Provincial Port and Waterway Layout Plan" and "Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the High-quality Development of Hubei Province's Port and Shipping Industry", etc., to achieve a greener shipping mode, more prominent network advantages, and deeper collaboration.

Wang Wei, director of Hubei Port and Shipping Development Center, said that from January to November this year, the cargo throughput of Hubei port has been completed by 5900 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 157. Container rail-water combined transport completed 1570,000 TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 1013. Provide "Hubei practice" for the high-quality development of inland waterway shipping.

New multimodal transport corridors account for more than half of the total.

Multimodal transport is an important part of effectively reducing logistics costs, and it is also a concrete embodiment of promoting the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.

Since the construction of modern inland waterway shipping and the pilot project of innovative development of multimodal transport to build a transportation power, the Provincial Department of Transportation has carried out high-level planning, high-starting point construction, and high-efficiency promotion, giving full play to the effectiveness of comprehensive transportation infrastructure construction and good location advantages, and promoting the Yangtze River waterway to produce first-class benefitsImplement the three-year multimodal transport action, promote the deep integration of various modes of transportation, strengthen and optimize the multimodal transport collection and distribution system, and help the interconnection of rail, public, water and air by supplementing the network and strengthening the chain.

On November 14, the first "Xinjiang-Wuhan" cold chain special train arrived at Wuhan Yangluo Iron-Water Intermodal Transport Demonstration Base. The special train is loaded with fresh fruits and meat, and after distribution and transshipment, it will be sent to Guangzhou and other places through cold chain vehicles. The special train transportation adopts the mode of multimodal transportation, which reduces the original 10 days required for transportation to 7 days, improves time efficiency by 30%, and reduces logistics costs by 10%. A day later, the international near-sea direct route from Wuhan Yangluo Port to Gloria Port in Vietnam was opened. The "China Airlines Hanya 6" set sail from Yangluo Port, loaded with fertilizers, non-woven fabrics, dried shiitake mushrooms, soda ash and other goods, loaded with a total of 268 TEUs, and sailed through the Yangtze River through the East China Sea and the South China Sea to Gloria Port in Vietnam. Compared with traditional modes of transportation, direct flights can save 3 days and reduce logistics costs by 10%.

Multimodal transport routes have been steadily expanded. Wuhan Yangluo Port to Shanghai Yangshan Port Jianghai direct operation has been realized every day, "Luhantai" container ocean route, Wuhan to ASEAN four routes, Wuhan to Japan and South Korea routes continue to consolidate ......In Hubei, multimodal transport networks such as rail-water combined transport, river-sea combined transport, water-water direct transport, road-rail combined transport (China-Europe train), water-land ro-ro transport, and land-air combined transport have taken shape. At present, the number of newly opened container routes accounts for more than 40%, and the number of newly opened multimodal transport channels accounts for more than 50%.

Since the launch of the three-year multimodal transport campaign in 2021, our province has invested 1432500 million yuan, and 67 multimodal transport collection and distribution infrastructure have been built. The Provincial Department of Transportation has set up a special class to actively explore new paths and new measures around key tasks such as the construction of multimodal transport collection and distribution system, transportation organization innovation, information sharing, and innovative application of technology and equipment, and provide experience reference and demonstration guidance.

In October this year, two projects in our province were awarded the "National Multimodal Transport Demonstration Project". At present, Hubei has a total of 8 national multimodal transport demonstration projects, of which 4 have passed the national acceptance and officially named, and the number of "national multimodal transport demonstration projects" ranked first in the country.
