Intelligent Truck Dimensioning GS400 LiDAR Measurement Volume Error Within 3

Mondo Science Updated on 2024-01-31

Intelligent truck volume measurement GS400 lidar measurement volume error is less than 3%.

Nowadays, the logistics industry basically needs to measure volume, and truck volume measurement can use a variety of methods, including manual measurement, lidar measurement, camera measurement, etc. Among them, manual measurement is the most traditional method, relatively simple but low accuracy, lidar measurement is a relatively advanced measurement method, the use of lidar sensor to emit laser beam and receive the signal reflected back, by calculating the reflection time to determine the position and size of the truck, thereby obtaining the three-dimensional model of the truck, this method has high precision, fast measurement speed, easy to use, has been widely used.

GS400 Truck Dimensioning System

The GS400 truck dimensioning system is mainly composed of four parts, license plate recognition system, weighbridge weighing system, radar measurement system, and gantry and terminal system.

The point cloud map is obtained through the scanning of two radars in front to obtain the information of width and height, and the radar in the rear is a velocity radar to obtain the information of length, and then the volume information of the vehicle-mounted object is obtained through the algorithm. This solution can make the measurement dynamic measurement during the movement of the vehicle, and the single measurement time can be completed within 20 seconds, and the error can be guaranteed to be within 3%.

The GS400 truck dimensioning system runs as follows:

1. The empty truck approaches the gate, and the license plate recognition system works, identifies the vehicle information, and wakes up the radar system to start measuring.

2. The truck passes through the measurement door and weighbridge, and the front and rear lidars perform 3D scanning and create an image of the truck, which is used to measure the empty carrier volume.

3. The truck returns to the measuring station (now full) and identifies the license plate.

4. The truck passes through the measurement door and weighbridge, and the front and rear radars perform 3D scanning and create an image of the truck, which is used to measure the overall volume after loading.

5. Calculate the volume and send the result to the background control system (within 3% error).

GS400 truck volume measurement system is widely used in mines, construction sites, metering stations, monitoring stations, road management, sand fields, grain stations, etc., which can help enterprises improve loading efficiency, reduce transportation costs, reduce vehicle accidents, and escort road safety.
