A deputy section-level colleague in the town, after working in the countryside for a while, decided to return to the city. His application was approved, and he chose the Enforcement Agency.
Although he was only a fourth-level chief staff member and had no specific position, he quickly felt a trace of regret. In his new unit, he fell into strangeness and isolation, lacking connections, and although he was at the deputy section level, he was just a busy ordinary employee.
One day when we met by chance in the community, he complained to me about his disappointment. Although it is hard in the town, there is at least some slight care, and even if it is at the deputy section level, it can be relatively respected.
He began to miss his days in town compared to his busy time in the Law Enforcement Bureau. Working at the local level, even in the districts and villages below, he can be regarded as a leader, at least with some status. And in the Law Enforcement Bureau, without other connections, he became an isolated ordinary employee.
This embarrassing situation made him deeply regret it, and it also made him reflect on his choice. Perhaps, without a clear position and status, returning to the city is not a good option.
This story reminds us that life choices need to be made carefully, and sometimes what seems ordinary can lead to more opportunities.
