Second, the triangular plum is divided into lazy and diligent varieties, I suggest that novices give priority to the selection of diligent varieties for maintenance, these varieties are relatively simple in maintenance.
Third, the size of the pot should not be too large, and the soil layer should not be too thick. It is taboo to plant large seedlings in small pots, especially the triangular plum needs to control water to promote flowering. For example, I raise a triangular plum plant, the width of the irrigation is about 50 centimeters, the diameter of the pot I equip it is about 15 centimeters, and the thickness of the soil layer is only about 12 centimeters. The other plant has a width of about 80 centimeters, and the pot I configured for it is 20 centimeters in diameter and about 15 centimeters thick. Planting large seedlings in small pots allows for better water control and avoids root rot.
Fourth, try to choose a flower pot with enough drainage holes, and the texture of the flower pot should be light. This not only facilitates the growth of plants, but also makes it easier to move plants indoors during the winter months to avoid frost damage. You can choose some pots that are perforated and lightweight, such as gallon pots, green hill pots, and Alice pots.
Fifth, the choice of soil is also very important. Although garden soil is convenient, long-term use can lead to problems such as soil compaction, water accumulation, and root rot. I recommend using a soil that is a mixture of pastoral soil, red sand, peat soil and perlite, which is loose and breathable, which is conducive to plant growth.
Sixth, for the pruning of the triangle plum, we need to carry out it according to the change of the season. The best time to prune is between May and mid-August, and moderate pruning can promote rapid branch growth.
