Zhang Ping, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered a keynote speech on "The Development Trend of 6G: Convergence of Communication and AI". He said that according to the development of mobile communication in a 50-year cycle, the system is constantly expanding in multiple dimensions such as speed, space, service, and intelligence. From 1G to 4G, 5G has improved reliability, low latency, and the number of users, while 6G development should aim at improving dimensions and intelligence.

The conference released two parts, "6G Network Architecture Outlook" and "6G Wireless System Design Principles and Typical Characteristics", which were researched and written by the IMT-2030 (6G) Promotion Group, to provide guidance for promoting the formation of a 6G overall architecture with industry consensus.

Among them, the "6G Network Architecture Prospect" starts from the driving force of 6G development, puts forward the design principles and network capabilities of 6G network architecture, and studies and explores the 6G network system framework and networking architecture. "Design Principles and Typical Characteristics of 6G Wireless System" combines the requirements of 6G deployment scenarios and networking scenarios to study and form the functional characteristics, architectural characteristics and operation characteristics of 6G wireless systems, and puts forward the overall architecture and design principles of 6G wireless systems.

On behalf of the IMT-2030 (6G) promotion group, Wang Zhiqin, Vice President of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, introduced the progress of 6G research in China and the progress of 6G technology trials in 2023, and analyzed the test results of four wireless technologies, including communication and perception integration, wireless artificial intelligence, intelligent metasurface, and terahertz communication, as well as three network technologies, including mobile computing power network, distributed autonomous network, and data service.

Experts from 6G promotion organizations in Europe, South Korea and other countries introduced the development of 6G in their respective countries and regions.
