Introduce yourself. I graduated from Southwest University with a bachelor's degree, majoring in primary education, because I didn't want to be a teacher, so I crossed the examination for primary education. In the second semester of my junior year, I prepared for the graduate school entrance examination, prepared for a year and a half, and finally successfully landed
1. Professional courses.
Every interdisciplinary candidate will always be a little confused and uneasy when facing a new professional subject. After all, this is a completely new field that requires us to build a knowledge structure from scratch. Here I would like to share with you mine.
Learning Method! In my opinion, the revision process of a professional subject can be summarized into three stages: reading, memorization, and simulation exercises. These three stages may seem simple, but each one requires a lot of time and effort. Especially for interdisciplinary candidates, due to the relatively weak basic knowledge, it is more necessary to work hard in these three stages.
I didn't choose to study on my own, but signed up for the one-on-one course of Yansheng Graduate School. My teacher is a senior sister from Southwest University with high scores, and she knows very well about the exam, and she has a complete grasp of the knowledge points. Under her guidance, although I am a cross-examiner, the professional class does not pose too much pressure to me.
However, learning is only the first step, and the real challenge lies in the memorization stage. Especially in the face of subjective exams such as the Southwest College Examination, memory is particularly important. Subjective questions are not for us to play at will, but for us to put forward our own opinions on the basis of certain theories. This means that we must have a deep understanding and memory of the knowledge points in the book.
In the memorization session, I also tried different methods. I've seen people take a book and recite it directly, and some people take the materials provided by the institution to recite it. On the other hand, I reorganized the most important knowledge points on A3 paper and memorized them on the basis of the institutional materials. This not only reduces the amount of memorization, but also makes me value every knowledge point more.
Recite. In the process of memorizing, I discovered a very interesting phenomenon: everyone's memory curve is unique. This means that we should not blindly follow the memorization strategies of others, but should find a method that works for us. In the process, I tried the Ebbinghaus method of recitation, which is a method of memorization based on personal memory curves. It doesn't have a fixed number of repetitions, but rather a memorization schedule tailored to each person's rate of forgetting. In this way, I can use my memory more efficiently and engrave every knowledge point deeply in my mind. While this process sounds scary and requires many repetitions, it is actually relatively easy to execute. Because I break down a book into various knowledge points and only memorize one knowledge point at a time, it relieves a lot of pressure. Moreover, through a long period of memorization and consolidation, I have a good understanding of the content of the book, and even began to integrate it, and I can easily transfer the knowledge points and discover the connections between them.
In order to avoid the fatigue caused by long-term memorization, I also used a method of random memorization and dictation to consolidate. I have a random number app on my mobile phone, and I draw ten numbers every day to write ten knowledge points silently.
2. English. Word.
Memorizing words for graduate school entrance exams is a battle that tests perseverance and patience. No matter how heavy the tasks of each day are, we can't afford to neglect the memory of words. I had a time where I was negligent and didn't memorize words for several days, which caused me to not have the required amount of words before the exam.
However, during the summer vacation, I would devote two to three hours every day to reciting Mr. Wang Jiangtao's "10 Days to Get the Vocabulary for Graduate School Entrance Examination". Even though I didn't do my daily tasks exactly as planned, this book still helped me tremendously. Unfortunately, many of the core vocabulary I memorized during the summer vacation has been forgotten by me because I didn't review it in time. Memorizing words is a tedious process, but you must stick to it, and this is a process of repeated memorization.
Therefore, in the last ten days before the graduate school entrance examination, I once again turned out this "10 Days to Get the Graduate School Entrance Examination Vocabulary" for review. I really hope that my younger siblings will persevere to the end and keep memorizing words no matter what difficulties they encounter.
Learning of long and difficult sentences:
Long and difficult sentences can be said to be the most difficult and important part of English for graduate school entrance examinations, and I will share with you a few methods and skills for learning long and difficult sentences.
Master grammatical construction: Complex long and difficult sentences usually include multiple clauses, modifiers, and other complex grammatical elements, so they are understood.
These grammatical structures are fundamental to understanding and parsing long and difficult sentences. By analyzing the constituent parts of a sentence and identifying key information such as subject-verb-object, it can help us gradually understand the meaning of the whole sentence. This may be difficult for students with poor grammar to understand, but in fact, sentences are mainly composed of stems and modifiers, as long as you can find the stem sentences, the grammar is actually very easy to understand. Here I suggest that you can listen to Ms. Tian Jing's class, her grammar class is very detailed, easy to understand, from simple sentences to long and difficult sentences to teach you step by step. She never talks nonsense, only full of dry goods. For students with an average foundation, Ms. Tian Jing's courses are relatively basic and suitable for students with slightly poor English.
Expand your vocabulary: Long and difficult sentences often contain new words and phrases, so increasing your vocabulary is essential for understanding long and difficult sentences. You can accumulate vocabulary by reading English articles and memorizing word lists, so as to improve your comprehension of long and difficult sentences. Here I recommend everyone to watch British dramas, such as "Downton Abbey", "Succession War" and the like, the pronunciation is very standard, and there are many practical words, which are suitable for us to watch when we eat or rest.
Lots of reading and practice: Reading is an effective way to improve your English skills, and reading more articles and reading exercises can help you gradually improve your ability to understand long and difficult sentences. At the same time, through writing exercises, you can consolidate the knowledge you have learned and enhance your ability to use long and difficult sentences. Reading more and writing more is very helpful for our essay writing, and reading more books is very conducive to enhancing our sense of language and writing ability.
Use tools to help: You can use grammar analysis tools, translation software, and other auxiliary tools to help learn long and difficult sentences. These tools help us better understand sentence structure and accurately translate sentence content.
3. Politics. It is true that it is not advisable to study politics too early, but it is best to start preparing for it in the early part of the summer vacation. Because a lot of the content is difficult to understand, it may be difficult to cope with it if it is piled up in the later stages of the preparation.
In the initial stage, the textbooks I referred to were Xiao Xiurong's "1000 Questions" and "Intensive Lectures and Exercises", because these two books were produced by Xiao Xiurong, and it was okay to do it synchronously.
The questions corresponding to the section, only do multiple-choice questions, and then read the analysis of the answers, and then memorize the knowledge points if they are wrong, and the key questions are written in the wrong question book for easy review.
The pace of study varies from person to person, and I don't need to study politics for too long at the beginning, but it can't be too short or even not at all, and I think that the time for studying politics during the summer vacation is ideal for one and a half to two hours a day.
The politics and economics and Ma Zhe parts that are more difficult can be learned first, and there are several teachers here whose courses are relatively good, like Xu Tao and Sister Legs, here are free to choose according to their own situation, each teacher has its own advantages and disadvantages, and the most important thing is to suit yourself. I watched Xu Tao's ** class at the time, except for the history outline and meditation, I read all the other parts. But it should be noted that Xu Tao uses his own tutorial books in class, which are not fully matched with most of the textbooks, but the political test points are those, and they can be used in general.
September-October: Consolidation.
In the first half of September, I continued the study progress of the summer vacation, read "Intensive Lectures and Practice" and completed 1,000 questions (not subjective questions). At the same time, I also bought Sister Leg's recitation manual and spent an hour reading it every day. Because the content of the manual is very brief, the relevant expressions should be understood in conjunction with "Intensive Lectures and Concise Exercises". In addition, I am also buying a political question bank, brushing dozens of multiple-choice questions every morning, and brushing Xiao Xiurong's 1,000 questions on the mini program again. It is very beneficial to deepen understanding by brushing multiple choice questions to check and fill in the gaps in knowledge points.
During this time, the pressure of preparing for the political exam is actually not great, and the main thing is to consolidate the knowledge points learned in the summer. On this basis, I brushed Xiao Xiurong's 1000 questions twice, brushed the wrong questions once, and understood, and I had some bottom on the political multiple-choice questions for the postgraduate entrance examination.
November-end of December: Sprint.
During the period from November to the end of December, I did two main things. The first is to take Xiao Ba's multiple-choice questions seriously, and the last few sets can be deliberately controlled by time. For subjective questions, I just looked at the stems and answers, and roughly touched them.
Its organizational logic and idiomatic sentences have not been done or memorized. The second is to continue to look through Sister Leg's recitation manual and read it twice.
I remember that at the end of October and the beginning of November, Sister Leg would wear a back on the Himalayas, and I followed at that time. But now it seems that I am more inclined to read and review it myself than Sister Leg's memorization manual and audio. Although Sister Legs' audio and belt back are very helpful, I feel that I have a better effect of flipping through and reviewing.
In general, I believe that the study of graduate school politics requires a lot of hard work and practice. It is necessary not only to understand the knowledge points, but also to do the questions to consolidate and improve. At the same time, it is also important to choose the methods and materials that are suitable for you to prepare for the exam. Everyone's situation is different, so you need to make a plan based on your actual situation and stick to it.
Finally, for each course, I recommend that you do a simulation exercise. Only real practice can truly understand your own level. Otherwise, you may encounter problems such as running out of time and not being able to complete all the questions during the exam. Here, I wish every candidate a successful pass of the exam and a successful landing!
