win11 splits the C partition into several partitions without damage

The window11 computer has only one C partition, that is, the entire disk has only one C partition. Therefore, some people with multi-partition OCD want to divide partition C into several partitions. Here comes the strategy, we have two common ways to split partitions without hurting system files. Here's a closer look at these two partitioning methods:

On the desktop of Windows 11, right-click on my computer".Management, OpenComputer managementwindow. Then select as shown below and click ".Disk management”。It is also possible to download from ".Get startedmenu to find Disk Management to open the Disk Management window.

Cut new unallocated space: In Disk Management, find the C drive, right-click on the disk, and select the "Reduce Volume" option. In the dialog box that pops up, you can see the size of the currently available reducible space. This value is measured in megabytes (megabytes). You can enter the amount of space you want to compress, or use the default maximum. After entering the desired reduction size, click the "Compress" button. The system will compress the C drive and create a new unallocated space.

Cut a new partition: Right-click the newly created unallocated space and select New Simple Volume. In the New Volume wizard, we enter the size of the new partition we want to spin off, in MB. Therefore, it is important to know that 1024MB is 1GB, and we can simply think that 1000MB is 1GB. Select NTFS for the file type of the partition, assign drive number, volume label, etc. Once you're done, click the "Done" button and a new partition will be created and a drive number will be assigned to it. Now, you have successfully split the C drive and created a new partition.

Take the medicine as prescribed: After you have the experience of operating the first partition, if you want to divide multiple partitions for the disk, you can follow the prescription. We first need to plan how many partitions we want to divide into, and then how much space each partition will occupy. After this design is completed, we can partition them one by one according to our design.

Generally speaking, partition utility software is more feature-rich to use. For example, our common PE tools basically come with their own partition tools. Partitioning tools are most common with DiskGenius.

If we don't want to use the PE tool to partition, we can install the DiskGenius partition tool to use it. Since this article is not a recommended PE partition tool, if you want to use a PE tool, you can search on the Internet by yourself. Since most PE tools come with DiskGenius, we only need to be able to use the partitioning tool.

Let's officially enter the C disk expansion partition operation, first of all, we click on the left disk in the DiskGenius software. At this time, we right-click on the right C partition. In the pop-up menu, select ".Split partitions", as shown in the figure below.

In the dialog box that pops up, we want to split the new partition size according to the amount of unused space in the C partition. That is, when splitting a partition, the value entered cannot exceed the free space size of partition C. As shown below:

After confirming that the value is reasonable, click "Start", and the tool will divide the partition for you. The newly divided partition will become the "unallocated" partition, and we can divide the different partitions in the "unallocated" partition.

The next step is to follow the prompts of the tool to create a new partition step by step, which will not be repeated here. I hope this article is helpful to you, and if you find this article useful, please like and reward the author.
