LG s launch of the 2024 flagship sound bar 9 1 5 channels is an exaggeration, but we are not optimis

As in the past, ahead of the CES 2024 show, major manufacturers have released their own sound bar products for next year, and Samsung's flagship product Q990D has been unveiled before, supporting HDMI 21 is the biggest highlight;LG, which has been going head-to-head with Samsung recently, has also launched its own 2024 sound bar products, which can be synced with compatible LG TVs**, and some can even connect wirelessly. Among them, the flagship model S95TR still achieves 91.5 channels, but in the shadow of Dolby Wireless Atmos technology this year, we think users' buying propensity may change.

Like last year's S95QR, the 2024 flagship S95TR is 91.5-channel system with 5 up-firing drivers, side-firing drivers, wireless subwoofer and wireless rear speakers. The S95TR supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, as well as the previous Dolby and DTS audio formats. LG says the all-new S95TR delivers impressive surround sound with 15 channels of power up to 810W output. With five upward-firing channels, including the industry's first** up-firing speaker, the S95TR creates an unparalleled three-dimensional audio experience that enhances clarity and expands the soundstage. In addition, LG also says that the upward-firing angle of the speaker ensures a seamless audiovisual experience and is precisely raised to the level of the TV screen.

LG also highlighted its own WOW Orchestra feature, which allows some soundbars to be synchronized with compatible LG TV speakers**, a feature much like Samsung's Q-Symphony technology, but the WOW Interface feature allows users to control the soundbar settings directly from the TV, which is still very convenient. In addition, LG also plans to launch SG10TY, S90TY, S70TR, S70TY, S60TR, S60T, S40T and S20T models this year.

Also, on the high-end models, LG once again allows the S95TR and SG10TY to connect wirelessly to compatible LG TVs. LG's WOWCast feature supports lossless, high-resolution audio over the wireless link, including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. However, although LG already supports 4K 120Hz HDMI input and output, it uses a downgraded YUV420, and the sound bar of this generation LG does not support HDMI 21, it's not clear now, it is estimated that it will not be known until CES 2024. However, Sony and Samsung have supported it, and LG should also support it, or it really can't be said.

However, we think the real problem is,If DolbyflexWireless Atmos technology is popularized on many TVs this year,Then Samsung、LGThe sound bar can still attract everyone's attention or even buy,There is a question mark。 For users, who need better sound quality and sound effects, it is best to spend so much money to buy ** amplifiers and wired speakers; If space is limited, you can get similar results at a lower cost by investing in a TV and speaker that supports Dolby Flex technology. Instead, the sound bar has become an embarrassing product that can't be up or down.

Of course, we will continue to pay attention to audio products in 2024, especially at CES 2024, and we probably know how many manufacturers will support Dolby's wireless atmos technology this year. But there is no doubt that from next year, there will undoubtedly be a huge challenge for traditional sound bar manufacturers. For some small manufacturers at home and abroad, they may further reduce their interest in launching sound bar products, and develop wifi speakers that support Dolby wireless Atmos.
