A 12-day strike by DHL Express employees has finally come to an end with a tentative agreement reached at Cincinnati's Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG).

Previously, 1,100 DHL Express employees began a strike on the 7th of this month, and then DHL employees in other parts of the United States joined in.

Employees who participated in the strike were members of Teamsters local100, an organization that is part of the International Teamsters Union. "After being forced to strike, 100 local truckers have reached a tentative agreement with DHL Express for 1,100 ramp and haulage workers from CVG," the truckers' union said today. ”

The statement also mentions that "the interim agreement will immediately end the 12-day unfair labor strike, after 24 hours of negotiations," the statement saidThe preliminary agreement includes improved workplace safety and increased wages and benefits. The final tentative protocol will be submitted to the Local100 members of the CVG for approval as soon as possible. ”

"This week, DHL Express witnessed strike action by members of the Truckers' Union across the United States, and the company is actively deploying contingency plans to ensure customers still receive high-quality service during peak seasons," DHL Group said in a statement. In addition, we have kept the entire network up and running, including the CVG hub, while working to minimize potential disruptions that may result from peak seasons (e.g., weather, volume surges, etc.). ”

DHL added, "The Company is in negotiations with the American Teamsters Union for contracts for a select portion of the employees at CVG's Global Center. At the same time, it reaffirmed that it is ready for a strike and takes pre-emptive measures, such as increasing manpower and changing delivery routes".

As the main international hub for DHL Express in the United States, CVG serves 130 DHL flights per day and has a fleet of 60 DHL aircraft. DHL handles shipments to the United States, Canada, Mexico and Latin America at CVG, averaging approximately 50 million international shipments per year.

While the strike threatens operations during the peak season, DHL Express last week diverted cargo flights from CVG to avoid disruption of air cargo operations before the strike. #dhl#
