Qin died, and his uncle and grandson were transferred to Liu Bang to work. Liu Bang didn't like Confucianism, so his uncle took off Confucian's clothes and changed to short clothes, and Liu Bang was very happy to see it. There are hundreds of Confucianists who follow Shusun Tong, but Shusun Tong does not recommend them to Liu Bang, but recommends some strong men who can fight and kill. **We're not happy, we've been with you for several years, you don't recommend us, but you recommend some treacherous people, why? Shusun Tong said, now that the King of Han is fighting with King Xiang for the world, can you fight or kill? Wait, I won't forget you.
Han set the world, Liu Bang asked his uncle and grandson to make a ritual music, and after the experience, he was overjoyed, and said, I only know now that being an emperor is so cool. Uncle Sun Tong said, "My group of students have been with me for several years and have worked a lot. Liu Bang made these Confucian scholars officials. These Confucian scholars happily said that Mr. Shusun was really a saint and knew how to be flexible.
Sima Qian said that his uncle and grandson knew how to be flexible, so he became a Confucian sect of the Han family. Lao Tzu said that the most upright person seems to be easy-going on the outside; The avenue is inherently winding, and only by following it can you reach your destination.
In fact, the flexibility that Shusun Tong vigorously advocated was also strongly advocated by Confucius. Confucius said that you can be with your classmates, but not with your classmates; You can be with the same way, not with the same power. This means that people who have studied Xi together are likely not to engage in the same profession after graduation. People who work in the same profession in the future are likely not to learn the same workarounds. Only those who learn to be flexible can be like a fish in water in the workplace.
Regarding the story of Shusun Tong, Feng Tang put forward three suggestions.
First, to give advice to the boss, you must know how to observe words and feelings, mention it if you can, if you can't mention it, don't mention it, and if you mention it, you will probably be fired. Third, knowledge should be learned and put into practice, and we should not cling to what is lacking. When Uncle Sun Tong formulated the ritual music, Liu Bang said that it was simple, but it was too complicated for everyone to learn. He went to Qufu to shake people again, and the two Confucian scholars said that Lile is not mature now. Uncle Sun Tong said, you are called contemptible, and you don't know how to be flexible. So he simplified the Zhou etiquette that had been passed down for thousands of years, and created a set of etiquette suitable for the Han Dynasty. Sima Guang later complained that it was because of the messy changes made by our uncle and grandson that we couldn't understand what Zhou Li was like now.
