On December 1, Hubei Yingcheng, invested by China Energy Construction Digital Technology Group and State Grid Hubei Comprehensive Energy Service, the general contracting of China Energy Construction China Power Engineering Central South Institute, and the world's first (set) 300MW compressed air energy storage power station demonstration project plant system contracted by China Energy Construction Hunan Thermal Power Station successfully completed power reception. The high standard and high quality of live electricity indicate that the project will fully enter the commissioning stage, which provides a strong guarantee for the follow-up unit start-up and grid-connected power generation.

The staff of State Grid Xiaogan Electric Power Company supervised and inspected the preliminary preparations for power transmission on site.

Relying on platforms such as "China New Energy Storage Industry Innovation Alliance" and "China Energy Construction Compressed Air Energy Storage Research Institute", China Energy Construction Co., Ltd. adheres to the cooperation concept of "full autonomy, whole industry chain, national production, and full openness", and cooperates with industry leaders, leading equipment enterprises, universities and scientific research institutes to take the lead in launching the research and development of 300MW large-scale long-term compressed air energy storage system. This is also the third batch of China's first (set) major technical equipment in the energy field, which has been implemented in Yingcheng, Hubei Province.

The 300MW 1500MWh compressed air energy storage generator set and supporting facilities are all-green, non-refueling, high efficiency and low cost. After the completion of the project, it is expected to achieve three world leaders in the field of non-combustion-fueled compressed air energy storage, such as single unit power, energy storage scale and conversion efficiency. It is estimated that after the completion of the project, the annual power generation capacity will reach 500 million kilowatt hours, and the energy conversion efficiency is expected to reach 70%. After the project is put into operation, it is also expected to become the world's first 300 MW non-refueling compressed air energy storage power station put into commercial operation.

Long Hang, the person in charge of the Hunan thermal power project of China Energy Construction Co., Ltd., introduced that the construction of the project has no experience to learn from, and the team has set up a QC project team to continuously optimize the plan with the design unit. Since the start of construction of the project, China Energy Construction Hunan Thermal Power has also set up a compressed air energy storage engineering technical research team to tackle technical difficulties and key points such as the installation of turbines and other host equipment, the implementation of automatic welding technology, and the purging of heat storage and exchange systems. This time, the Hunan Thermal Power Yingcheng Project Department of China Energy Construction Co., Ltd. prepared a detailed construction plan, actively improved the quality and safety management system and supervision system, and controlled the quality of the construction process in accordance with the goal of creating excellence, so as to ensure the success of the power reception.

Wang Jun, the relevant person in charge of State Grid Hubei Comprehensive Energy Company, said that the project is also the first batch of new power system pilot demonstration projects of State Grid Hubei Electric Power, and the project is expected to greatly alleviate the problem of insufficient peak regulation capacity in the province after completion, promote the consumption of new energy in the surrounding areas, and provide backup and dynamic reactive power support for the power grid.
