Born on November 15, 1914 in Ji'an, Jiangxi Province, to a poor family. The turning point of his fate came in 1929, when he joined the Red Army for the battle for Ji'an at the age of 15, and faced the harsh tests of war together with many young soldiers from poor families.
During the long march, ** showed remarkable courage and fighting spirit, and although he was wounded in the head in a fierce battle, he still maintained his heroic style on the battlefield after the test of life and death. The organization pays close attention to his bravery and sees it as the focus of his training.
In addition to the brave fighting style, he pays attention to learning Xi, actively responds to the call of the organization, and enters the university for further study. In April 1935, at the age of 20, he became the political commissar of the 18th Regiment of the Red Second Army, showing that while he was emerging on the battlefield, he also showed outstanding talent in cultural knowledge and political propaganda.
At the beginning of 1936, General ** commanded the troops to decide to advance to Guizhou, and the 18th Regiment of ** shouldered the key task of successfully occupying important ferries and paving the way for the main force. However, the enemy counterattacked strongly, and on March 12, 1936, ** and his troops were wounded twice in the battle of Zhenxiong County, Yunnan Province, and despite the severity of his injuries, he insisted on directing the battle.
The long march and fighting worsened ***'s injuries, but he continued to travel north with his wounds regardless of his personal safety. By September 1936, when the troops finally reached the Gansu region, his arm wound was extremely critical and could not be fully suctioned. In extremely difficult conditions, he often soaked his injured arm in cold water to relieve the pain. Eventually, in order to save his life, the leadership decided to undergo an amputation, and ** lost an arm, but remained surprisingly calm and strong about it.
After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, ** was once again given an important mission and became the political commissar of the third detachment. Partnered with another one-armed general, He Bingyan, they fought fierce battles in the area of the Daqing River, repeatedly building up their exploits and expanding the influence of the anti-Japanese base areas.
However, during the turbulent times of the Third Five-Year Plan for the Development of the Country, he made efforts to maintain the stability of the country, and despite the personal safety risks, he assisted in the day-to-day work. Fortunately, with the support of senior leadership, he was able to avoid a greater risk. As the situation gradually calmed down, his contribution to the stability of the country was clearly recognized.
** Committed to the country and the cause, he passed away in Beijing on February 3, 1999, ending a life full of dedication and brilliance. His story has become a symbol of loyalty, dedication and perseverance, inspiring generations to contribute to the development of the country and the nation.
