Approach the ancient city of Zheng Han and relive the history of excavation

On the afternoon of December 15, Fan Quanquan, director of the Shang Zhou Archaeological Research Office of the Henan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology and director of the Xinzheng Workstation, brought a special lecture on "Crane Dance Spring and Autumn Square Pot, a Hundred Years of Vicissitudes of Zheng Han" to the audience in the lecture hall on the first floor of Zhengzhou Library.

It is understood that this lecture is sponsored by the Zhengzhou Origin of China and Songshan Civilization Research Association, undertaken by Zhengzhou Library, Zhengzhou Songshan Civilization Research Institute, Zhengzhou Tianzhong Academy, and funded by Zhengzhou Songshan Civilization Research Association.

Fan Quanquan has been engaged in archaeological excavation and research in the Neolithic Age, Shang and Zhou dynasties and the Han Dynasty for a long time, and has published more than 10 monographs and written more than 80 archaeological reports, briefings and reports. He presided over the excavation of the "North City Gate Site of the Ancient City of Xinzheng Zhenghan", which was awarded the "Top Ten New Archaeological Discoveries in China in 2017".

In the lecture, Fan Hot Spring spent more than two hours showing a grand picture of the civilization of the capital city of Zheng and Han. Starting from the excavation of the lotus crane square pot in the tomb of Zheng Gong at the beginning of the 20th century, he told the archaeological excavation process of the ancient city of Zheng Han in the past hundred years, and introduced the gate of the ancient city, the layout of the urn city, the cast iron ruins, the tomb utensils, and the sacrificial ritual vessels. It also summarizes the new achievements of the former city of Zheng Han in many important topics such as historical changes, urban development, ecological environment, residents' lives, social production and ritual system.

After the lecture, Fan Hot Spring also answered the construction and operation of the Zhenghan Ancient City National Archaeological Site Park, which the audience was very concerned about.

It is reported that the Tianzhong Forum aims to invite domestic archaeological experts to carry out regular cultural lectures and cultural exchange activities, so that Zhengzhou citizens can learn more about the historical role of the Central Plains in the origin of Chinese civilization, appreciate the charm of the Central Plains culture, and understand the glorious historical heritage of Henan.
