This standard is equivalent to the ISO international standard: ISO 13318-2:2007.
Chinese name of standard: Determination of particle size distribution by liquid centrifugal sedimentation method Part 2: Photocentrifugation method.
GB T 42342 "Particle size distribution - Liquid phase centrifugal sedimentation method" is a method for determining the sedimentation rate, sedimentation coefficient and particle size distribution of granular materials by accelerating the migration of particles in liquids by centrifugal sedimentation. The direction of motion depends on the density difference between the dispersed and continuous (liquid) phases (also known as density contrast).
GB T 42342 is intended to consist of three parts. Part 1 gives the basic principles and guidelines for centrifugal sedimentation, and Part 2 (photocentrifuge) and Part 3 (X-ray centrifugation) give two different determination methods, respectively. This standard describes a method for determining particle size distribution by liquid-phase centrifugation sedimentation method for part 2 photocentrifugation. The solids concentration is determined by the transmission of the light beam, and the resulting signal can be converted into a particle size distribution.
The stability of the German LUM company The analytical instrument for the dispersion system is fully compliant with ISO 13318-2:2007 GB T 423422-2023, after decades of customer experience, it has become an indispensable helper for relevant R&D practitioners.
