Penalty for failure to register within 48 hours of entry into Mongolia

In accordance with Article 16 of the Law on the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens2 provisions.

Foreign citizens or legal persons who violate the provisions of the Law on the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens are subject to Article 16The provisions of Article 2 are subject to the following penalties:

1.Failure to register as a foreign citizen (within 48 hours, address registration, registration as a citizen of a newly born immigrant), destruction or vanity of a residence permit, passport, a document with the same validity as a passport, or failure to carry a residence permit or work without permission, to travel to a territory other than those provided for in international treaties and agreements with neighbouring countries, shall be punishable by a fine of MNT 100,000.

2.If a foreign citizen fails to register with the relevant organization within the time limit established by law, the citizen who applied for the invitation will be fined MNT 250,000 and the legal entity will be fined MNT 2,500,000.

3.Foreign nationals who have not obtained a residence permit within 21 days of entering the Mongolian border and who have exceeded the limit of stay are required to pay MNT 10,000 per day, and citizens and legal entities who have issued invitations are fined MNT 10,000 per day for the number of days overdue.

In addition, you will be deported from Mongolia if you violate the visa and registration procedures two or more times a year and are subject to a fine, overstay of your visa or residence permit for two months or more in accordance with the relevant laws, work without the permission of the relevant units and organizations, and engage in activities unrelated to the purpose of your entry.
