In 1924, the Whampoa Military Academy was established in Guangzhou, and Chiang Kai-shek was appointed as the principal of the Whampoa Military Academy. At that time, Sun Yat-sen was in a hurry to form an army, and the Whampoa Military Academy had a relatively short academic system. Taking the first phase of Huangpu as an example, Hu Zongnan, Huang Wei, Song Xilian and other Huangpu students were in school for a total of half a year. After graduating, they followed Chiang Kai-shek to participate in the Eastern Expedition against Chen Jiongming. On the Huayang front, Chiang Kai-shek was wounded, and many Whampoa military academies were killed. Chiang Kai-shek deeply felt that the physical fitness of the students needed to be improved, and assigned Chu Minyi to Tianjin to look for martial arts masters and to become a martial arts instructor at the Whampoa Military Academy.
* During the period, Tianjin was the largest port city in the north. Due to the developed economy, Tianjin has gathered many martial arts masters, Huo Yuanjia and Du Xinwu have opened martial arts halls in Tianjin. After Chu Minyi arrived in Tianjin, he was introduced to Han Muxia. Han Muxia is a native of Tianjin and has studied martial arts with Zhou Binyi since he was a child. Under the guidance of his master, Han Muxia became a martial arts master in Jinmen, and was known as the "Jinmen Twin Heroes" together with Huo Yuanjia. Chu Minyi invited Han Muxia to serve as the chief instructor of martial arts at the Whampoa Military Academy. Han Muxia happily agreed and stepped on the southbound train.
At the end of 1924, Han Muxia officially served as the chief instructor of martial arts at the Whampoa Military Academy. At that time, the Whampoa Military Academy had already enrolled the second and third phases of cadets. Han Muxia has developed martial arts courses based on the characteristics of students. After Qiu Qingquan, Wang Yaowu and other Whampoa students practiced martial arts, their fighting level has been greatly improved. After completing their studies, Huangpu students ushered in the test of life and death. In February 1925, Chiang Kai-shek led Whampoa students into a fierce battle with Lin Hu. Lin Hu is Chen Jiongming's descendant, with more than 20,000 people under his command. The Whampoa Military Academy has only two teaching regiments, with less than 3,000 people. Han Muxia, as a martial arts instructor, also participated in this battle.
After the battle began, the teaching regiment, with the Whampoa students as the main force, was in a disadvantageous position. Lin Hu relied on his superior strength to surround the teaching regiment in the area of Mianhu Lake and Kanhu Lake. At the critical moment, Han Muxia stepped forward, held a sharp blade, and killed ten officers. The Whampoa students were deeply affected and fought back with the determination to die. In the end, the Whampoa students were weak and strong, forcing Lin Hu to retreat more than 100 miles. After the battle, Chiang Kai-shek summoned Han Muxia and praised him as an instructor with strong martial arts. After that, Chiang Kai-shek left Han Muxia at the Whampoa Military Academy to train the fourth and fifth batches of cadets. However, Han Muxia rejected Chiang Kai-shek's kindness. What's going on?
It turned out that Chiang Kai-shek was a careerist who had always sought more power. In 1926, Chiang Kai-shek created the Zhongshan ship incident, forcing Li Mo'an and Song Xilian to change their faith. There were constant disputes within the Whampoa Military Academy, and Han Muxia felt that the future was bleak, so he left the Whampoa Military Academy. Later, the Whampoa Military Academy moved to Nanjing and hired new martial arts instructors. However, the martial arts of these instructors are all under Han Muxia, and even the classmates of the Whampoa Military Academy said that in the Whampoa Military Academy, who has the highest martial arts? There is no doubt that it is Han Muxia. However, Han Muxia did not return to the Whampoa Military Academy. He lived an uneventful life in Tianjin and died in 1947.
