Easy car newsGenesis unveiled the Genesis x Gran Berlinetta Vision Gran Turismo Concept at the Grand Final of the Gran Turismo World Series in Barcelona, Spain. As part of the Vision Gran Turismo (VGT) series from Polyphony Digital studios, the concept car will be launched in Gran Turismo 7 in January 2024.

The Genesis X Gran Berlinetta VGT Concept embodies the brand's design philosophy of "sporty elegance". Starting with a design vision, the concept car showcases Genesis' passion and desire for the VGT series. The design language of the new car is pure and powerful, and the body is designed around a circular arc. The concept car perfectly embodies Genesis' signature reverse wedge-shaped streamlined design, combining the proportions of the rear of the cabin with the concept of expansive elegance, continuing Genesis's consistent expression in vehicle design. The overall design maximizes the ratio of the instrument panel to the front axle, while moving the driver's seat and powertrain back to achieve a sophisticated mid-engine layout.

The Genesis X Gran Berlinetta VGT Concept features a new front design that abstracts the wide grille of the emblem of the brave and connects it to the Inspiration Wings LED headlights. On top of the lightweight aerodynamic architecture, Genesis' signature "parallel double flare" two-line design runs through the front and rear of the car, outlining the lines of the vehicle. The waistline starts from the slightly arched front fenders, carving out the vast and elegant body flow and emphasizing the power of the rear fenders.

The lines of the body extend to the rear to form the iconic concave oval curved rear end of the Genesis model, which is surrounded by a rear spoiler and rear wing for high-speed stability with aerodynamic structure. With the help of aerodynamics, the internal and outer flow is harnessed, and the Genesis X Gran Berlinetta VGT Concept has an aerodynamic drag coefficient as low as 034。

The "Lava Orange" exterior color chosen for the exterior underlines the dynamism of the Genesis X Gran Berlinetta VGT Concept. Inspired by the brand's unique "Korean Charm" spirit, this eclectic hue evokes the volcanoes of South Korea and the emotion, passion, and energy that characterize Korean culture.

The interior of the Genesis X Gran Berlinetta VGT Concept follows Genesis' "White Space" interior design philosophy, with the cabin prioritizing basic driving functions so that the driver can maximize their concentration on the track. The information center is presented through a digital panoramic interface and connected to a surround digital monitoring system, providing a wide field of driving view independent of surrounding vehicles. The steer-by-wire system delivers precise, decisive handling and a racing advantage.

The carbon fibre cockpit is subtly integrated with soft touchpoints where the driver can reach it. The diamond-inlaid padded guards protect the driver both during racing and when getting on and off the car in the pits.

The Genesis X Gran Berlinetta VGT Concept features a front-mid-mounted Lambda 11 V6 engine with electric assistance from Genesis e-SC technology. The racing-spec hybrid system has a maximum power of 1,071 hp and a maximum torque of 1,337 Nm. Among them, the V6 engine can reach a maximum speed of 10,000 revolutions per minute, with a maximum output of 870 hp and a maximum torque of 1,071 Nm, while the Yasa E motor can produce an additional 201 hp and 266 Nm of torque.
