Q "** Spokesperson's Office" News, at the regular press conference on December 11, a reporter from the Chinese Global Program Center of the main station asked: December 10 is World Human Rights Day. Can you tell us more about China's achievements in the field of protecting and promoting human rights? We have also noticed that a small number of Western countries have attacked China under the pretext of human rights. What is China's view on this?

A Mao Ning: On December 10, 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which is of great significance in the history of human civilization. In 1950, the United Nations General Assembly designated 10 December as World Human Rights Day.

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the promulgation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, China recently held an international seminar in Beijing. Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China and head of the Communist Party of China, attended the seminar and delivered a keynote speech, in-depth publicity of Chairman China's important expositions on human rights issues, the rich connotations of Chinese's human rights development path, and China's position on global human rights governance. The meeting issued the chairman's statement "Beijing Declaration", which aroused enthusiastic responses.

China adheres to the people-centered concept of human rights and insists that people's happy life is the greatest human right. China has built a moderately prosperous society in all respects, won the largest battle against poverty in human history, built the world's largest education, social security and medical and health systems, improved the living environment of the people, developed whole-process people's democracy, promoted the protection of human rights and the rule of law, and upheld social fairness and justice. China has embarked on a path of human rights development that conforms to the trend of the times and suits its national conditions, and has made historic achievements in the cause of human rights.

The promotion and protection of human rights is the common cause of all humankind. No country in the world is qualified to act as a "teacher of human rights". The most authoritative assessment of a country's human rights situation comes from its people. The right of all countries to independently choose the path of human rights development should be respected. Some countries ignore their own serious human rights problems and interfere in the internal affairs of other countries under the pretext of human rights. China will continue to unswervingly promote and protect human rights, promote the common values of all mankind, carry out human rights dialogue and cooperation on the basis of equality and mutual respect, and work with all parties to safeguard human rights through security, promote human rights through development, and advance human rights through cooperation, so as to jointly promote the healthy development of the international human rights cause.
