On December 14, Yu Xiaoqi, Secretary of the Education Working Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Department of Education, met with Mustafa Mohamed Mahmoud, Minister of National Education and Vocational Training of the Republic of Djibouti, and his delegation in Chengdu.
During the meeting, Yu Xiaoqi welcomed the delegation, expressed his gratitude to Mustafa for promoting educational exchanges and cooperation between Sichuan and Djibouti, and introduced the basic situation of the development of education in Sichuan. Yu Xiaoqi said that in recent years, Sichuan and Djibouti have actively carried out practical exchanges and cooperation in various fields, especially in people-to-people exchanges. This year, Sichuan Normal University, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Djibouti, established the Confucius Institute in Djibouti, the first Confucius Institute in Sichuan Province in Africa. It is hoped that we will continue to strengthen educational exchanges and cooperation with Djibouti, make new progress in studying in Sichuan, Chinese language teaching, and vocational education cooperation, enhance people-to-people understanding and mutual understanding, and jointly safeguard the traditional friendship between the people of the two places.
Mustafa expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the Sichuan education administrative department, relevant universities and institutions to promote cultural and educational exchanges and cooperation between the two places, and hoped to further deepen cooperation with Sichuan and achieve win-win cooperation under multilateral frameworks such as the Belt and Road Initiative.
