Modern China experienced two major civil wars, which lasted a total of 14 years. The first was during the ten-year civil war between 1927 and 1937, which was the first stage of the Kuomintang-Communist civil war. During this period, the contradictions between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party gradually intensified, and the two sides launched a fierce struggle. Although the civil war during this period brought great suffering and losses to China, it also provided important opportunities for the growth and development of the Chinese Communist Party.
After the end of the ten-year civil war, as Japan's aggression against China intensified, the Kuomintang and the Communist Party re-cooperated to jointly resist the Japanese invaders. However, with the end of the War of Resistance Against Japan, the contradictions between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party intensified again. In June 1946, the civil war between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party broke out again, which is what we call the period of the War of Liberation.
The period of the War of Liberation was the second stage of the civil war between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, and it was also the period called the War of Liberation by the Chinese Communist Party. During these four years of war, the people's army under the leadership of the Communist Party of China gradually grew stronger and its combat effectiveness continued to increase. They took the people as the center, based on land reform, and used military struggle as a means to gradually eliminate the main force of the Kuomintang army.
In the final stage of the War of Liberation, the People's Army under the leadership of the Communist Party of China launched a final decisive battle. In the three major battles, they successively eliminated the main forces of the Kuomintang army and laid the foundation for the liberation of China. Finally, in September 1949, the Chinese Communist Party achieved a complete victory and the People's Republic of China was officially established. Looking back at this period of history, we can see that China's civil war brought great suffering and losses to the Chinese people. However, through these historical events, the Communist Party of China has gradually grown and developed into a political party with strong leadership and combat effectiveness.
