With the theme of "New Power of Light and Shadow", and the goal of "year-round screening, island-wide screening, national viewing, and the whole industry chain", this year's film festival brought together a number of domestic and foreign heavyweight filmmakers. Nuri Bigg Ceylon, who won the Best Director Award at the 61st Cannes International Film Festival and the Palme d'Or at the 67th Cannes International Film Festival, served as a judge of the main competition unit of the 62nd Cannes Film Festival and the chairman of the jury of the 2019 Shanghai International Film Festival, has been invited to serve as the chairman of the jury of the Golden Coconut Award competition of this year's film festivalOther members of the jury who accepted the invitation included French photographer Caroline Champurtier, Iranian director Sharon Mokli, Chinese director and actor Dapeng, Chinese actor and producer Huang Xiaoming, Chinese actor Ma Yili, and Chinese screenwriter Liu Yi.
It is understood that the global film collection of this year's film festival was launched on September 13 this year, and the outstanding films produced after August 15, 2022 were collected worldwide, and a total of 4,018 films from 109 countries and regions around the world were received through official platform registration, overseas film collection, and targeted invitation films.
The shortlisted works will be judged by the jury during the festival, and a total of 10 awards will be awarded: Best Film, Best Director, Jury Prize, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Technology, Best Children's Film, Best Documentary, and Best Short Film.
