Liu Shaoang came into contact with ice skating at the age of 7, in order to be able to pursue the extreme speed on the ice rink, he returned to Changchun, China to receive more systematic and rigorous training here, and regularly returned to China every year to train as his compulsory course, Liu Shaoang's speed skating performance also improved by leaps and bounds, becoming the highest level of speed skater in Hungary. The World Cup victory in short track speed skating and the title of World Championship champion made him one of the top ten outstanding Chinese athletes, while Liu Shaoang and his teammates performed even more impressively in the relay event, allowing Hungary to reach the top podium of the 5,000m short track speed skating relay at the Changping Winter Olympics. At the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, Liu Shaoang won the men's 500m short track speed skating championship and shined on the Olympic stage. After winning the championship, Liu Shaoang and his brother Liu Shaolin changed their nationality and became a member of the Chinese speed skating team.

On December 10, 2023, Liu Shaoang won the championship in the men's 1000m final of the Short Track Speed Skating World Cup in Beijing, winning the championship for the Chinese team for the first time in this event. Returning to the motherland to train and compete, Liu Shaoang felt the warmth of home, and the lightning on the ice continued to write the myth, looking forward to Liu Shaoang maintaining his condition and winning glory for the country!
