In a quiet village 9 kilometers southwest of the county seat, Taro Village is located here. This seemingly ordinary village hides a 642-year-long history. Taro Ancient Dong Village, an ancient village that has witnessed the vicissitudes of life since the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, is not only an important witness of Chinese history, but also a brilliant treasure of Dong culture.
Founded in 1368 during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, the ancient Dong village of taro has been quietly born. However, the course of history has not been smooth sailing. During the reign of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1644), a fire burned almost the entire village. However, the catastrophe did not break the people of this land. With their tenacity and the strength of their unity, they rebuilt their homes and formed seven settlements that branched off on both sides along the axis of the taro stream.
In the forty-second year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1777), the development of Taro Ancient Dong Village reached a new peak. In this year, the Taro Xialong Bridge, Yashang Drum Tower, and Long's Drum Tower were completed one after another, adding a new cultural imprint to this ancient land. These buildings are not only the crystallization of the wisdom of the Dong people, but also their respect and inheritance of history.
In the Qing Daoguang and Guangxu years, the construction activities of the ancient Dong village of taro became more and more frequent. Tianniu Drum Tower, Lusheng Ancient Building, Longmen and other buildings with Dong characteristics have risen from the ground and become new landmarks in this land. At the same time, the streets of the Ancient Post Road have been repaired and preserved, ensuring that the historical context of the land continues.
After hundreds of years of vicissitudes, Taro Ancient Dong Village was announced as the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units on June 21, 2001. This honor is not only an affirmation of the history of this land, but also a respect and inheritance of Dong culture.
Today's Taro Ancient Dong Village still maintains its quaint style and strong national characteristics. Walking in the ancient village, it seems that you can hear the echo of history and feel the breath of those who have struggled in the long river of time. Every stone, tile, and building here tells a touching story.
However, traces of history are not limited to these tangible buildings. In the ancient Dong village of Taro, people still maintain the traditional Dong lifestyle and customs. Here, you can enjoy the original Dong songs and dances, taste the authentic Dong food, and participate in various traditional festivals and celebrations. This profound national cultural heritage has made Taro Ancient Dong Village a cultural resort that domestic and foreign tourists yearn for.
As an ancient village with a long history and unique culture, Taro Village is not only a tourist attraction, but also an important part of Chinese culture. Here, we can see how a nation adheres to its own cultural traditions in the long river of history, how it coexists in harmony with nature, and how it shows tenacious vitality in the face of challenges and difficulties.
In the future, we should cherish and protect this precious cultural heritage, so that the story of the ancient Dong village of taro can be passed on from generation to generation, and the history and culture of this land can be eternal.
