[Market Analysis].
The Philippines is located in the southeast ** zone, with abundant sunshine and abundant rainfall, and the basic conditions for the development of agriculture are superior. Agriculture is an important sector of the Philippine national economy, with about 38 percent of the country's workforce engaged in agricultural activities. Rice, maize, livestock and poultry are the most important components of agricultural production, accounting for about 76 percent of total agricultural output. Food crops and cash crops account for 53 and 47 of crop output respectively. The main agricultural products are rice, corn, coconut and sugarcane, among which the production of coconut ranks first in the world.
In 2021, the total budget of the Philippines for the whole year was 3 trillion pesos. The budget of the Ministry of Agriculture is 484500 million pesos, one of the top 10 sectors in terms of total budget. The Philippine Secretary of Agriculture said that in order to meet the food needs of the rapidly growing population, the Philippines** plans to allocate a higher budget for the Ministry of Agriculture. In 2019, the Philippines' agriculture budget was P49 billion, in 2020 it was P64.7 billion (22% of the proposed budget for the Department of Agriculture) and in 2021 it was P85.3 billion (30% of the proposed budget for the Department of Agriculture). In terms of total budget, the budget investment of the Philippines** to the Department of Agriculture is on the rise. Although the financial burden of the Philippines has been increasing since 2019, the Philippines** has still increased its budget investment in the Ministry of Agriculture, which is enough to prove that the Philippines** attaches great importance to agricultural development.
There is a lack of agricultural material production enterprises in the Philippines, such as agricultural and livestock machinery, agricultural and livestock product processing machinery, pesticides, fertilizers, seeds and other agricultural production materials mainly rely on imports. According to the statistics of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry, in 2021, China will still be the largest partner and the largest importer of the Philippines. In that year, the total amount of China and the Philippines reached 383400 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 249%, accounting for 19 percent of the Philippines' total external value9%;The Philippines imported 267 from China900 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 284%, accounting for 22 percent of the Philippines' total imports7%。In 2021, the total GDP of the Philippines reached US$391.9 billion, with a per capita GDP of about US$3,595 and an economic growth rate of 56%。The Philippines, one of the largest economies in ASEAN, is still the first phalanx in Asia and has huge market potential.
