The reporter learned from China Railway Kunming Bureau Group that as of December 10, more than 4,260 meter-gauge Central Asian trains between China Kaiyuan and Haiphong, Vietnam, have been completed, and more than 1.68 million tons of cross-border cargo transportation have been completed.

Meter-gauge refers to the railway with a gauge of 1000 mm, and the Central Asia international freight train relies on the China-Vietnam international meter-gauge railway, starting from Kaiyuan in China and Haiphong in Vietnam, passing through China's mountainside port and Vietnam's Lao Cai port, forming a stable transnational train transportation mode.

Since the beginning of this year, the railway transportation market has picked up, and the meter-gauge Central Asia trains have continued to increase their volume, with 2 to 4 trains running steadily every day, effectively ensuring the rapid circulation and distribution of various materials between China and ASEAN countries, and injecting strong impetus into economic development. In the first half of the year, the customs clearance of Yunnan Province ports has been steadily restored, the efficiency of customs clearance has been continuously improved, and the import and export freight volume and value of the ports have increased respectively. 8%, foreign economic and trade cooperation continues to expand.

According to statistics, in the past five years, the meter-gauge Central Asia train accounts for forty percent of the China-Vietnam meter-gauge international intermodal trains, and the import and export goods are mainly sulfur and fertilizers, and the proportion of goods cleared through customs is basically the same, opening up the Indochina Peninsula rapid transportation channel, and realizing the domestic and international dual-cycle logistics channel of "going back and returning" between China and Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and other countries.
