Founded in 1979, Te Whare Ra is a small boutique winery located in the small town of Renwick in New Zealand's Marlborough region.

The vineyard covers an area of 11 hectares and was planted in 1979, making it one of the oldest vineyards in Marlborough. The soil is mainly clay and loam, and 7 grape varieties are planted. As a founding member of the Marlborough Natural Winegrowers, Sun House manages its vineyards using a combination of organic and biodynamic methods.
In winemaking, the winery is equipped with several small fermentation tanks, and the grapes from different plots are made separately according to the vine variety, age and soil type. The winery adheres to the principle of minimizing human intervention and does not add fining agents and artificial yeasts during the winemaking process in order to preserve the natural character of the wine.

This stunning wine reveals intricate and precise details. The finished wine has an elegant aroma of lemon smoothie, white blossom and lime nectar, with a condensed flavour and a delicate, smooth and intense palate with an elegant, long finish.

The nose is rich with lime juice with clearly recognizable aromas of lime peel, fresh pastries, apples and pears, smooth and juicy on the palate, with fresh and elegant apple and pear fruitiness, with good intensity and depth, and a long, crisp finish with a hint of spice.
