On December 27th, the double width of the Pestle Tunnel was successfully completed, becoming the first extra-long tunnel to penetrate the whole line of Lushi Expressway, opening up a new channel for the transportation of materials and equipment, and creating favorable conditions for the subsequent construction of the bridge subgrade project. As a single-hole two-lane separated extra-long tunnel, the left line of the Pestle Tunnel is 4,709 meters long and the right line is 4,715 meters long, passing through many fault fracture zones such as the Luding fault zone, facing adverse geological problems such as large deformation of high geostress, water inrush and collapse, and the construction difficulty, water protection and safety risks are greater.
In order to excavate safely and efficiently, all parties involved in the construction adopted the "zero excavation" method to enter the tunnel for the huge thick layer of accumulation at the entrance of the tunnel to ensure the coordination and beauty of the tunnel entrance and the mountains on both sides, and to protect the ecological and natural environment of the village to the greatest extentAt the same time, we will actively implement the "three-full work method" to realize the full recycling of "tunnel slag-rolled gravel-production concrete" and minimize the stacking of waste slagIn addition, adhere to the principle of "short footage, weak disturbance, strong support, fast closure, diligent measurement", and adopt mechanized construction equipment such as three-arm arch trolley and rock drilling trolley to overcome a series of problems such as rock burst, large deformation of primary support, and fast deformation of surrounding rock.
As of the end of December 2023, 80% of the roadbed project, 70% of the bridge and culvert project, 81% of the tunnel project, 30% of the housing construction project, 30% of the pavement project, and 28% of the greening project have been completed on the Lushi Expressway.
