Affected by **, in 1985, the Shihezi Intermediate Court commuted Jiang Aizhen's sentence to life imprisonment. In 1986, the Urumqi High Court openly tried Jiang Aizhen's case, which touched the hearts of millions of citizens. Two days later, the final verdict came out, and Jiang Aizhen was sentenced to 15 years in prison for intentional homicide. At the same time, Xie Mouping, who participated in the framing of Jiang Aizhen and Zhang Guozheng, was arrested and investigated, and Yang Mou, deputy chief of staff of the 144th regiment who announced his personal vendetta, was also imprisoned, and the head of the regiment was "placed under "residential surveillance" by the court for dereliction of duty.
