Fast Technology reported on December 17 that the digital blogger @digitalchatting station recently posted on Weibo that the Dimensity 9400 processor will continue to use an all-large core architecture, and the design performance is expected to surpass Qualcomm's next-generation chip Snapdragon 8 Gen4 in all aspects.

The blogger said that the Dimensity 9400 will no longer use four Cortex-X5 super-large cores, but it will still be an all-large core architecture, and it will also use TSMC's 3nm process process.

The revelation also mentioned that the design performance of the Dimensity 9400 processor wants to surpass Qualcomm's flagship chip in an all-round way, and the current end customer targets are also vivo, OPPO and Xiaomi.

On the Dimensity 9300 processor released this year, MediaTek has adopted an all-large-core architecture design for the first time, and further improved chip performance by "reducing small cores and increasing large cores".

The Dimensity 9400 uses 4 Cortex-X4 ultra-large cores and 4 Cortex A720 large cores, with the maximum frequency of the ultra-large core reaching 325GHz, the main frequency of the large core is 20GHz, CPU peak performance is increased by up to 40%, and the power consumption of the same performance can be reduced by 33%.

Since the Dimensity 9300 is equipped with super large cores and large cores that support out-of-order execution, unlike small cores that can only be executed sequentially, plus the large cores are more powerful, the processing tasks are done quickly, and the rest is also fast, so the power consumption is naturally low, and the temperature is lower.

The vivo X100 mobile phone, which was first equipped with Dimensity 9300, reached a score of 2.23 million points in an environment with a room temperature of about 25 degrees.

With such a strong strength, it is not surprising that MediaTek continues to adopt an all-large nuclear architecture on the next-generation Dimensity 9400.
