On December 11, Riot Games officially announced that it will join the 10 teams that will join VCT CN next year.
The VCT CN teams are: AG, BLG, EDG, FPX, JDG, NOVA, TE, TEC, TYL, WOL
Riot Games also announced that starting in February, Valorant global leagues will host an opening tournament where their respective regions will compete against each other to select the winners and teams that will advance to the first Masters next year.
The first Masters in 2024 will be held in Madrid, Spain. From March 8 to 24, eight of the world's top teams will gather at the Madrid Stadium for the first international event of the 2024 season. The Masters will feature a new format, starting with the Swiss round and ending with the double-elimination round that everyone knows and loves. Tickets go on sale on December 14th!
Riot Games also revealed some plans for 2025, as Valorant is a bit of a tight tournament, with high-intensity competition from January to September, and free time after the September World Championship, which will be adjusted in 2025 to allow teams and players to have a healthy offseason.
Finally, in order to further commercialize esports, Riot Games will launch co-op sets for VCT partner teams next year, where players will be able to support their favorite teams in the game by purchasing team-specific guns** and items for the first time, and will also increase revenue share for VCT partner teams. This is another cooperative sharing model launched after the champion set. (The team's exclusive ** is finally coming).
