Iveco Group joins the United Nations Global Compact
On November 30, Iveco Group announced that its application to join the United Nations Global Compact has been approved. The organization is the world's largest international organization for corporate sustainability.
As a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact, Iveco Group will join thousands of companies around the world in their commitment to more socially responsible business actions for a sustainable future. It calls on companies to align their operations and strategies with the principles of the Global Compact in the areas of human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption, and to take positive action in support of the goals and issues addressed in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Established in 2000, the UN Global Compact is a voluntary leadership platform for developing, implementing and disclosing responsible corporate business practices. It includes more than 18,000 companies and more than 3,800 non-corporate signatories from more than 160 countries, and a network of about 80 countries and regions that drive issues and actions on the ground. By joining the United Nations Global Compact, Iveco Group reaffirms its commitment to sustainable business practices and to the promotion of a sustainable society.

Launch of a pilot project for autonomous trucks in Germany

Alta, Norway, one of the northernmost cities in the world
In late November, Iveco Bus announced that it had delivered 13 Crossway buses to Nordic bus operator Connect Bus Norge AS, and confirmed an additional order for the delivery of the remaining two buses in 2024. As a result, Crossway buses will start operating in Alta, Norway, one of the northernmost cities in the world. Currently, there are around 1,000 Crossway buses in operation on Norwegian roads, proving that they are perfectly adapted to the harsh climatic conditions of Northern Europe. Alta, which is about to welcome the crossway, is located 400 kilometers within the Arctic Circle and is the 14th northernmost city in the world (69 degrees 58 minutes north latitude).
The order is for a 13-metre Crossway low-entry bus with an HVO-compliant 320 hp engine. In addition to the driver, it can accommodate up to 47 seated passengers and 26 standing passengers. The vehicles will be used for regular local transportation and school commuting services.
