According to reports, the planning scope is the customs supervision area between the "first line" and the "second line" of Hengqin Island, with a total area of about 106 square kilometers. Among them, the "first line" between Hengqin and the Macao Special Administrative Region is set up;The area between Hengqin and other areas within the customs territory of the People's Republic of China is set as the "second line". The planning period is until 2035.
The plan proposes development goals by 2024, 2029 and 2035. By 2035, the advantages of "one country, two systems" will be fully demonstrated, and the economic strength and technological competitiveness of the cooperation zone will be greatly enhanced, becoming a powerful growth pole of the Guangzhou-Zhuhai-Macao Science and Technology Innovation CorridorThe public services and social security system operate efficiently, so that the residents of Hengqin and Macao can have good education for the young, excellent education, good medical treatment for the sick, care for the elderly, and livable housingWith about 80,000 Macao residents employed and about 120,000 Macao residents living in the Co-operation Zone, the four new industries strongly support the diversified development of Macao's industries, and the strategic goal of promoting the moderate diversification of Macao's economy has been basically achieved.
