The 13th Grizzlies in the West welcomed back their star Morant, who scored 34+6+8 in his season debut, beating the Pelicans to end a five-game losing streak, and he will make his home debut against the Pacers. Toping hit a three-point shot from the bottom corner, Aldama cut to the basket, McConnell broke through to make a layup, Aldama hit a three-point shot, Brown scored from mid-range, Konchar hit a three-point shot, Toppin scored five points in a row, Turner dunked, and the Pacers chased it to 36-52.
Bane hit a mid-range shot, Turner hit Biyombo with his back, and Jaren Jackson Jr. made a jumper to give the Grizzlies a 56-38 lead. But then the Pacers went on an 18-2 offensive surge to reach 56-58 before the end of the second quarter. 3J scored 16 points in the half, Toppin contributed 13 and Turner had 11 points.
In the third quarter, Toppin drew one of two free throws from Biyombo, Morant made a layup, Haliburton scored eight straight points, and the Pacers led by three points at 65-62. Bane's three-point shot was also colored, Topin's back dunk, Vince Williams made a layup, Bane scored a layup, Morant threw into the basket, Turner turned over and hit a jumper, Bane scored a three-pointer, Biyombo received a dunk in the air, Bane scored on a layup, and the Grizzlies opened up again 78-69.

In the final quarter, Morant made a layup to make it 2+1, Nesmith broke through to make a layup, and the Grizzlies played an 8-2 small climax, expanding the difference to 16 points. Toppin hit an open three-pointer, Mathurin scored on a fast break, and then both sides used free throws to score, and the Grizzlies led 105-88 after 3J hit 2+1.
Turner made two free throws, Tillman made one of two free throws, Hield scored three points, 3J made a layup, Haliburton flew to split a dunk, Toppin hit a three-point shot, Bane returned a three-pointer, Morant made both free throws, and then the Pacers pulled out the starter, and finally the Grizzlies won two straight games at 116-103 and also won the second home win of the season.
In this game, Bane scored 31 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists on 11-of-26 shooting, Morant scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists on 7-of-15 shooting, Jaren Jackson Jr. scored 21 points and 9 rebounds on 8-of-10 shooting, and had 7 turnovers, Zaire Williams contributed 16 points, and Aldama scored 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting. For the Pacers, Toppin had 22 points and five rebounds on 8-of-14 shooting, Haliburton was 7-of-19 from the field, including 2-of-12 three-pointers, with 17 points, four rebounds, 14 assists and four turnovers, Turner and Hield both had 15 points and six rebounds, and Nesmith contributed 14 points and five rebounds.
Haliburton started the season with a strong start and fans nicknamed him "Harry Potter", but his magic seemed to have lost after the midseason tournament, and after finishing runner-up, the Pacers went 2-5 and won two games, the Pistons and the Hornets, both of which were at the bottom of the East, and the Pistons have lost 25 games in a row.
