On December 2, the reporter learned from PetroChina Changqing Oilfield that after two years of exploration difficulties, PetroChina Changqing Oilfield found a large oilfield with geological reserves of over 100 million tons in Hongde area, Huanxian County, Qingyang City, Gansu Province, marking a major breakthrough in oil exploration in the fault and fracture area of the western Ordos Basin and opening up a new field of oil exploration and development in the western Ordos Basin.

Hongde Oilfield is located in the western part of the Ordos Basin with extremely complex geological conditions, due to the staggered geological faults and fractures, it has been difficult to break through after more than ten years of exploration and research, and once became a "forbidden area" for oil exploration.
Since June 2021, Changqing Oilfield has been guided by large-scale coverage support and guidance with the help of three-dimensional ** technology, and oil exploration has once again deployed the Hongde area to find structural oil reservoirs, and has successively obtained high-yield industrial oil flow in 23 exploration wells in two years, of which 3 wells have a daily oil production of more than 100 tons. Up to now, Changqing Oilfield has submitted more than 50 million tons of proven oil reserves and 56.2 million tons of oil reserves in this area, and a large oil field of more than 100 million tons has surfaced.
The Ordos Basin is a cornucopia of China's oil and gas resources, where Changqing Oilfield has built a world-class super-large oil and gas field with an annual output of 65 million tons. The rapid breakthrough in oil exploration in the Hongde area, and the acceleration of oilfield development, the current daily production level has reached 504 tons. The discovered oil reserves have formed a first-class production capacity with an annual output of 500,000 tons, which has opened up a new impetus for increasing reserves and production in the western part of the Ordos Basin.
