Pine wood nematode disease is a very dangerous forest disease, since it was first discovered in China in 1982, it has spread rapidly, and a number of scenic spots such as Huangshan and Taishan have been infected one after another.
The National Forestry and Grassland Administration attaches great importance to the prevention and control of pine wood nematode disease, and in 2021, it issued the "Guiding Opinions on the Scientific Prevention and Control of the Epidemic of Pine Wood Nematode Disease", formulated a five-year action plan, organized and carried out actions such as accurate monitoring of the epidemic, blockade and control of epidemic sources, improvement of the quality of eradication and protection of healthy forests, etc., implemented the prevention and control technology, and updated the "Technical Plan for the Prevention and Control of Pine Wood Nematode Disease" every year. All localities have conscientiously implemented the decisions and arrangements of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, adopted ruthless and solid measures, and promoted the implementation of tough actions. At present, the momentum of serious harm and rapid spread of pine wood nematode disease has been initially contained, the overall national goal set by the attack has been initially achieved, the county-level epidemic area, township-level epidemic points, the occurrence area and the number of diseased and dead trees have achieved "four declines", and the completion rate of the provincial target has reached 8250%, Huangshan and other key areas of prevention and control results have begun to show.
